If not an actress, Reese Witherspoon might have been an English teacher! Yes. The 'Legally Blonde' star graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor's degree in English literature. Had it not been for acting, she would have been teaching Shakespeare to high school strudents.
Born and brought up in New Orleans, Reese entered the entertainment industry at the early age of 7. Her became an actress in 1990 with her first major role as a 14 year old tomboy in The Man in the Moon. Subsequently, she acted in bigger productions like Jack the Bear and A Far Off Place, both released in 1993. Reese withheld her acting career in 1994, the year she joined Stanford University for studying English Literature. However, she switched back to acting in 1996 when she was offered roles in two big films, Fear, and Freeway. Her acting talent in these two motion pictures earned her better opportunities that led the way to her first huge break Legally Blonde, a massive box office hit. Success followed with Sweet Home Alabama, and Walk the Line. Today, Reese Witherspoon's name needs no introduction. Acting, after all, washed away her plans to continue with English Literature.
