It all began with the gruesome death of John Winchester's wife Mary Winchester. Something killed her, and that something was a demon Azazel. Fanatically revengeful, John escaped the supernatural forces and managed to save his two sons, Sam and Dean. 22 years later, when John goes missing, his sons start a search that brings them face to face with supernatural creatures, and the unexplained. They find their father, and all three set upon the journey to track the demon and kill it.
