Early Life
Blair was born Selma Blair Beitner in Southfield, Michigan, the daughter of Molly Ann and Elliot Beitner. She has three older sisters, Katherine (a book publicist), Elizabeth, and Marie. Career
After training at the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting, Blair began acting in a few small roles during the early 1990s. She starred in the film Cruel Intentions (1999), opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar and Reese Witherspoon, and won the best kiss category at the MTV Movie Awards with co-star Gellar.
