Laurence John Fishburne III (born July 30, 1961) is an American award-winning actor of screen and stage, as well as playwright, director, and producer. Fishburne is best known for his roles as Jason 'Furious' Styles in Boyz n the Hood and as Morpheus, the hacker-mentor of Neo, in the The Matrix science fiction film trilogy.
