Stop slamming poor Lambert. He just happened to kiss someone from the same sex during his final performance at American Music Award on Sunday.

Over 1,500 complaints have kept pouring in on Monday against the American Idol Adam Lambert. The singer is charged with a kissing act with a male keyboard player during his performance. Besides, it was way beyond ABC's expectation for one of Lambert's dancers to stick his face in the singer's crotch while he sang the S&M-themed performance of "For Your Entertainment". The act was edited by the channel as the awards show was broadcast on a tape-delayed basis on the West Coast on Sunday.

"A lot of what I do is kind of freestyle. That's how it was on 'Idol.' That's how I perform. I like to have a framework, and just do stuff. So that kind of came about because of the connection that I had with that dancer", the dancer explained to The Associated Press about the choreography.

Shart comments that sounded more hostile circulated online about the "American Idol" glam rocker's performance. While Lambert followed the song's lyrical theme, "It's about to get rough for you", he started to fondle one dancer and briefly pulled two dancers around on a leash.

Besides, it was way beyond ABC’s expectation for one of Lambert’s dancers to stick his face in the singer’s crotch while he sang the S&M-themed performance of “For Your Entertainment”. The act was edited by the channel as the awards show was broadcast on a tape-delayed basis on the West Coast on Sunday.

“A lot of what I do is kind of freestyle. That’s how it was on ‘Idol.’ That’s how I perform. I like to have a framework, and just do stuff. So that kind of came about because of the connection that I had with that dancer”, the dancer explained to The Associated Press about the choreography.

Shart comments that sounded more hostile circulated online about the “American Idol” glam rocker’s performance. While Lambert followed the song’s lyrical theme, “It’s about to get rough for you”, he started to fondle one dancer and briefly pulled two dancers around on a leash.

Back in 2003, Madonna and Britney Spears briefly locked lips during the MTV Video Music Awards, raved similar outrage among the fans. Lambert had been openly gay and spoken about how provocative male performers could be onstage. There is no reason why the American Idol winner should be so largely criticized for an act of his choice.

Adam Lambert Performing at AMA

In an interview with CNN, the singer told he is hurt and that his kiss was “in the moment”. Lambert also added that if if people were upset about it, “That’s a form of discrimination and it’s too bad”.

Timothy Winters, president of the Parents Television Council exclaimed that the people whole complained about Lambert’s kissing act are outraged and, “They just can’t believe the nature of the content, the explicit nature, and how much graphic content there was”.

Winters also added, “”These programs are wholly unsuitable for children now and it’s pathetic, given the amount of economic support that children and teenagers bring to the industry today”.

Ken Tucker, an entertainment Weekly writer, was sensible enough to speak in support of the singer. He praised Lambert for raising the popularity of the show and for being “an event unto himself”. “As a TV viewer, I thought Lambert’s performance was a gas, a delight, a blast of brash vulgarity in the midst of merely ordinary vulgarity”, he also added.

Matthew Gilbert, a Boston Globe television critic, thought the act to he “pretty harmless”. He wrote on a blog, “It’s all posing and mugging and selling, not real honest provocation”.

Lambert was later quoted as saying in an interview with AP, “I had fun, my dancers had fun, the audience that was in the Nokia (Theatre) had fun. Anybody else who was watching it and enjoying it, thank you for being entertained. There are a lot of double standards as far as that goes. We’ve seen female pop and rock performers do that for the last 10 years. They’ve been very provocative, owning their power and sexuality. You just don’t see men doing it very often. And I’m hoping to break down that double standard with this number”.

Ever wondered why celeb faux pas are the most talked about news pieces? Because they have juice. A taste of rebelliousness. A taste of abnormality. People love everything that takes a path away from normal. The moral police, though, stand up and raise their hands in protest. This is what happened this year in the American Music Awards held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on the 22nd of this month. This Sunday night brought those moments which are still being talked about and being googled and youtubed and twittered, and of course blogged. Let us visit those moments too in this blog!

J Lo, Adam Lambert and Kate Hudson at the AMA, 2009

Ever wondered why celeb faux pas are the most talked about news pieces? Because they have juice. A taste of rebelliousness. A taste of abnormality. People love everything that takes a path away from normal. The moral police, though, stand up and raise their hands in protest. This is what happened this year in the American Music Awards held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on the 22nd of this month. This Sunday night brought those moments which are still being talked about and being googled and youtubed and twittered, and of course blogged. Let us visit those moments too in this blog!

Faux Pas one is the fall. Jennifer Lopez while performing on stage had an almost terrible accident. Louboutins, the Pop diva’s new single, was being performed with a number of dancers and acts. During one of these acts, J-Lo lost her balance after jumping from the top of the human-stairs. That must been embarrasing huh?! But she didn’t show it. She went on performing the routine after that. Later, while talking to the press, she said “that was part of the choreography”. Really? That is difficult to believe!
This piece of news has got the maximum “view count” on youtube. More than 750,000 have viewed her 13 second fall video on youtube. Also, there are many blogs that have given a link to the whole act and it was disabled because of copyright claims by Dick Clark Productions, the AMA producers.

The second faux pas has pulled more than 6,500 results from googlenews. Type ‘Adam Lambert’ in a few days from today and he might just cross the 7 figure search result that google gives in his name. Because, this “happily gay guy” believes in the “freedom of expression and artistic integrity”. His new single, “For Your Entertainment” says so and so does he in his performance at the AMA. His performance included quite some vulgar moments that might have been “funny” for the nondescripts, “artistic freedom and expression” for Lambert and his fans, but “indecent or profane material” for the Federal Communications Commission. Reuters reported that ABC television received over 1,500 complaints for this “sexually-charged performance”. Michael Slezak from the Entertainment Weekly well describes this performance as “a carefully planned stab at dominating the post-AMA blogosphere/water-cooler discussion.”
In conclusion to this faux pas, a question might arise, did Lambert wow the people or did he initiate a tow for himself? That will depend on FCC, if they really will fine the channel and him or not.

Our last faux pas for AMA, 2009, is a now normal one. ‘Now normal’, because it seems like in every awards show there is always one or some of the celebs that go the “malfunction” way with her or their wardrobe. But, surprisingly, it is always an eyebrow raiser. This time, this crime was committed by Kate Hudson. Her plunging neckline was more than just plunging, more like winging actually! When she came on stage to announce the Black Eyed Peas performance next, with Nicole Kidman, her silver “glitzy” dress made heads turn and mobile phones active.
It is high time that Kate Hudson and all wardrobe malfunctioners to understand that these ceremonies might not be the best place for skin shows.

Faux pas over. But is that all?
Is it not that award ceremonies are about awards and winners and great performances? Why then do these social blunders get so much footage?
The reality is that they get footage. People watch them. Read them and talk about them. And later forget about them! That’s it.

Kanye West might just have a major problem and several other issues with Taylor Swift's growing popularity, but who really cares? West like it or not this is definitely Swift's year.

The country crooner Taylor Swift overshadowed the late Michael Jackson by picking up 5 leading awards as the King of Pop pocketed 4 nods at the American Music Awards. Swift's 5 nods included the prestigious artist of the year award at the AMA held on Sunday.

The 19 year old country singer proved all MJ fans wrong who expected the Pop King to get a clean sweep. Swift have him a head to head competition in the ceremony's final prize, the artist of the year category. Besides winning the favorite female artist in the pop/rock and country categories Swift also won favorite adult-contemporary artist award. "Feerless", the 2008 release of Swift, was named favorite country album. Feerless became the best-selling release in the United States this year.

Feerless became the best-selling release in the United States this year.

Among the other multiple winners hip-hop singer Jay-Z and the Black Eyed Peas won two each.

While accepting her award for the artist of the year, live via satellite from backstage at London’s Wembley Arena, Swift said, “Music has never been ultimately about competition”. Swift also added she feels its an “unimaginable honor” for her to be nominated in the same category as Jackson. The country crooner will be performing at a concert in Wembley Arena on Monday.

“I just want to say that music has never been ultimately about competition and to even be mentioned in a category with Michael Jackson who we’ll miss and love forever is an unimaginable honor”, she added. “And I just want to say I’m sending my love to the Jackson family and Janet”.

Michael Jackson at American Music Award

Jackson won four posthumous including favorite male artist in the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories. “Number Ones”, a hits collection of the Pop Star, was named favorite album in both those categories too. Jermaine, MJ’s brother, accepted the awards on the Late singer’s behalf. “We love you, Michael. It’s not just about the winnings, the awards, it’s mainly the message. The message that Michael had will live on forever…and he saw good in everyone and he wanted them to do good. To start with love and let’s love each other”, said Jermaine Jackson.

Eminem, who was nominated in 4 categories, went home empty handed. While Jay-Z won the favorite male artist and favorite album in the rap/hip-hop categories, Black Eyed Peas were named favorite group in both the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories.

Green Day, the punk rock trio, bagged the favorite alternative artist title. The favorite country group went to Rascal Flatts for the fourth year in a row.

Thanks to Adam Lambert, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Whitney Houston who gave some of the most outrageous performances at the event. Janet with her medleys put the stage of fire.

The theme of American Idol’s next week’s episode would be “Idols at the Movies“. The episode will feature Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, and Quentin Tarantino on the show as the 7 top finalists sing along “songs of the cinema“.

It would be great watching the trip lend a support to their favorite contestants. Miley has already said that she is very fond of Allison Iraheta and has been texting her. This will surely earn Iraheta more votes from all Miley fans. Miley will be perform the very popular song “The Climb“.

The fans are eagerly waiting to see Jennifer Hudson’ on the American Idol show after the singer went through a lot of turmoil in 2008. She’ll be singing her latest hit single, “If This Isn’t Love“.

Director Quentin Tarantino has been a part of American Idol in the last season as a guest judge. And this year he is back again as a celebrity mentor. Folks just wait to watch Quentin and and out favorite Adam Lambert interact. Keep your fingers crossed as we don’t yet know what song Adam will pick.

Quentin is the best choice for this episode where the top 7 contestants will be performing songs from Movies. He knows music as much as he knows film. Most of his films encompass iconic moments in that are linked to pop songs. It now seems that the man who made John Travolta and David Carradine look cool will now give an edge to Anoop Desai.

The theme was Year They Were Born Wish List, and Adam Lambert´s ¨Mad World¨ was amazingly maddening. Perfect song. Perfect notes. Perfect voice. The reigning star of American Idol season 8 has done it again. He was the last contestant to perform, and since the show was running out of time, only one judge was asked to respond. It was Simon Cowell, and this is what he said: ¨I think words are unnecessary but I want to give you a standing ovation.” Nothing else could have been a more appropriate conclusion to an incredible American Idol night marked by fantastic performances from all the contestants except Scott MacIntyre and Lil Rounds who had to say goodbye.

When contestants were given a choice to pick a song from the year they were born, the 27-year-old Adam Lambert from Hollywood chose the hit single ¨Tears for Fears Mad World¨ from the year he was born, 1982. He delivered a flawless and most original version of the very depressing ´Mad World´ wowing the judges and the audience. No one from American Idol contestants could have better conveyed those desperate emotions held in the song through such powerful vocals. Lambert´s voice displayed the very soul of the song proving him one of the most captivating performers of American Idol till date.

Written by Roland Orzabal and originally sung by Curt Smith, the song ¨Tears for Fears Mad World¨ acquired the third position in the UK singles chart. It appeared on the British rock band´s début album ´The Hurting´ released in 1983. The song topped the UK charts for a second time in 2003 when it was used as the soundtrack to the movie ´Donnie Darko.´ Last night´s Adam Lambert Tears for Fears performance has hurled the song into popularity once again.

The name Adam Lambert, in American Idol, has become an enigma. Over the last few weeks we have heard that spectacularly creative voice of Lambert blend itself to tunes ranging from The Rolling Stones´ ¨Satisfaction¨, Michael Jackson´s ¨Black and White¨ to Johnny Cash´s ¨Ring of Fire¨, Smokey Robinson´s ¨Tracks of My Tears¨, and Wild Cherry´s ¨Play That Funky Music.¨ Those who thought him the ´disco boy´ could not but accept him as an exceptional singer capable of singing any kind of song and making it his own. It is this artist in him that placed Adam Lambert in Top 8. And now, he moves on. If you missed yesterday´s show, do check out Adam Lambert´s site on youtube.com to get a recap of his performance.

Kris Allen had been one of the most popular contestants of the American Idol season 8. The theme of the last performance night’s episode was throwback to the year the contestants were born in which Allen tranced his female fans with his own style of All She Wants to do is Dance.

Allen was dressed in a very fashionable gray blazer. He rocked the stage with his guitar mesmerized the audience. But luck did not really favor this talented singer. Judges were not really impressed with his performance. Kara found the real essence of the song missing with Allen’s modern and young rendition.

Although Allen is a top favorite contestant of the American Idol this year yet he needs to improve on his singing skill said Paula. Simon, as always was very harsh in his comments. He called Allen boring, although he said the singer is hot, and also mentioned that “it was a stupid, stupid song choice“. Randy rather confused the other judges and the audience by saying that he found Allen completely lost in his performance and avoided commenting anything about the song.

In spite of such comments from the judges end Kris Allen escaped the elimination this week. The audience seems to like you a lot Allen. After this last performance he seems to be one of the most talented and likable contestants of American Idol this year. I wont be surprised at all he reaches the top two position and takes home the title of American Idol season 8.

The episode this week wasn’t much impressive when the contestants had to perform songs from the year they were born. The contestants gave an average performance except Matt Giraud, Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta, who managed to sway raving appreciation from the judges. Danny Gokey, Anoop Desai, Lil Rounds and Scott McIntyre just gave about okay performances.

AI Top 8

American Idol season 8 has been an exciting mix of bizzare themes and some fantastic performances. The contestants added color and glitz with their unique individualities-Adam Lambert´s iconic style, Megan Corkrey´s beautiful tattoo and Danny Gokey´s signature good-boy ´spec´-tacular look. Through a series of eliminations rounds that saw the contestants compete fiercely, the Top 8 have been selected. Now, who will be the idol? Any guesses…

Last week´s American Idol placed Megan Joy Corkrey, Alison Iraheta and Anoop Desai in the bottom three. One had to go, and anyone who had seen Megan perform knew who. Yes, it was Megan who just couldn´t have stayed. Her vocals were pathetic, and her tunes all messed up. Sure she has physical beauty, but she could have reached another level only if there was some beauty in her voice.

Already in grave danger once, Anoop too will have to go. He is enthusiastic on stage and has a huge fan following. But, neither is he competent, nor consistent in his vocals. After a superb ´Always on My Mind´, his ´Caught Up´ was simply horrible. Anoop may improve. But, the ´Ídol´ tag seems a little too difficult for him to achieve.

Where will Matt Giraud and Scott Mackintyre be in the subsequent American Idol shows? Both these singers have proven their talent. On iTune Downloads night, Scott´s delivery of ´Just the Way You Are´ surpassed his previous performances. Matt´s performance, however, was a blunder. He didn´t do well at all with ´You Found Me.´ Will Matt, like before, be able to cover up the mess with a top-notch performance? or will he sink deeper in his self-created blunder? The title is nowhere near for either of these two singers. As for the duration of their on-stage existence, it depends on their vocal deliverance AI Top 8in the coming weeks, the judges´ opinion, and most importantly, the voters.

Danny Gokey was quite flat with the Flatts. ´What Hurts the Most´ sounded thunderous. Also, it lacked originality. The judges were sympathetic. But, this one performance cannot steal Danny´s dynamic presence on the ´Idol´ stage, and his huge fan following. He sure is a strong contender, and will easily go up to the top 5. But Danny and ´Idol´? That is too much to ask for.

Allison´s vocal performance has been consistently good over the weeks. Yet, she was in the bottom three for two consecutive weeks. Bad vocals? Wrong song choice? or a poor fan base? It is the third, becasue there is no other reason why she should fall among the three worst performers. Her appearance was, no doubt, whacky. But, she sings very well. Last week, she was awesome with ¨Don´t Speak.¨ The 16-year-old Allison is one of the strongest female contestants and definitely deserves to end up in the top 3. The only danger she faces is a weak fan base.

With her wonderful voice, Lil Rounds is another very strong contestant. She is an excellent singer. But, she too, like some of the contestants, chose the wrong song (´I Surrender´) in the American Idol Top 9 show. In addition, Lil lacks the ability to produce a song right from her soul. That makes Lil Rounds absent from her own performances. But she will surely make it to the top 5 of this season.

Kris Allen was gorgeous last week with his rendition of ´Ain´t No Sunshine.´ He improves every week, and his astonishing coming to limelight from behind the scenes has led him to the top 3 already. That awesome voice, and that pretty charm have made the boy one of the most-loved Idol of season 8. If anyone can beat the reigning star of American Idol, its Kris Allen.

On the top, till now, is the vocally versatile Adam Lambert. Amidst all that ´He is gay’ controversy, Adam has managed to keep his no.1 position intact for all the right reasons. His dynamically creative voice go well with his funky style, something that has become iconic. He has both a massive fan base as well as unmatched talent. With each powerhouse performance (´Ring of Fire´, ´Tracks of My Tears´, ´Play That Funky Music´), Adam has made it clear that he holds the first place in American Idol Season 8 contest.

So, the American Idol title this season will go to….Adam Lambert. Or will it be Kris Allen? Those who have been following the show know that Adam is the champ. But, they also know that Kris is an equally strong contender. Adam fans have something to worry about. Those who love Kris, keep your fingers crossed.

Yes, the theme selection has turned out quite random. Tuesday night saw the contestants perform popular iTunes downloads, which meant they could select any song they wanted. The thematic makeover brought to us everything from Gwen Stefani to Wild Cherry to No Doubt, The Fray, The Hopefuls, and Rascal Flatts. Such a wide range of choices, however, led to some bad choice-making. On stage, the ‘Idols’ ranged from ‘very good’ to ‘boring’.

American Idol Top 9

Adam Lambert sang the fun Wild Cherry song “Play That Funky Music“. His on-stage representation of the song was very original and indeed, funky. Two weeks in a row, Adam has been superb. The switch from the smooth Smokey Robinson’s “Track of My Tears“, which he delivered last week, to yesterday’s vibrant song of Wild Cherry band has confirmed his brilliant vocal creativity, and spectacular control on the notes. Adam, without a doubt, is difficlut to beat. The other contestant who wowed the audience and the judges was Kris Allen. His perfectly soulful and spectacular “Ain’t No Sunshine” (the timeless Bill Withers song) established him as a front-runner on the Idol stage, and a worthy challenger to Adam Lambert. Kris gets better every week, and yesterday’s performance is his best till date.

Danny Gorkey did good work on Rascal Flatt’s “What Hurts The Most”. His was a heartfelt performance. The vocals were amazing, and his deliverance was solid. However, despite his strong presence, and vocal talent, Danny could not live up to the expectations he had roused in the audience through his past performances. What lacked was the energy and exuberance he has shown earlier. Danny was very good, but he has to be better in order to stay in the same line as Adam and kris. Scott Macintyre presented Billy Joel’s classic “Just The Way You Are“. His vocal output has made him safe, and he has definitely improved.

Lil Rounds shouldn’t have sung Celine Dion. She has a superior voice, but she couldn’t connect with the diva’s “I Surrender“. It was a wrong choice she made, and she messed up the pitch and the notes. Alison Iraheta, a natural rocker, started well with No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak“. But, she couldn’t keep up those vocals and the notes later. Unable to build her position and without a strong fan base, Allison has been placed in the bottom three.

Really bad were Annop Desai, Matt Giraud and Megan Joy Corkrey. Annop Desai was simply unbearable. Singing “Caught Up” by Usher. Anoop brought energy. But with such low-grade vocals, he definitely cannot be called an ‘artist’. Matt Giraud sang “You Found Me” by The Fray. Another bad choice. His performance was greatly inconsistent. Finally, Megan Joy Corkrey is out of the show. In the first place, she shouldn’t have been on American Idol. Her performances were bad, and yesterday, she was despicable singing Bob Marley’s “Turn Your Lights Down Low“. Sure she is hot and beautiful. But to stay on Idol, she needed a voice to sing.

Along with Allison, Matt and Megan featured in the bottom three. Megan has been sent home. And now, there are eight.

Smokey Robinson was impressed; the audience, spellbound. A hushed silence followed as finalist Adam Lambert finished singing “Tracks of My Tears” at American Idol’s Motown week on Wednesday night. The silence was broken by a thundering applause from the audience as well as the judges.Smokey Robinson, who was the guest judge at the show, rose to his feet.

In a sleek silver suit and with his hair brushed back like Elvis, the 26-year-old Lambert from Los Angeles had his pitch and the notes all in place. In fact his vocal creativity was perfect, and his performance totally smooth. The deliverance touched the heart of all those who heard him sing. Criticism from the judges came only in the form of appreciation. Somkey Robinson, who had originally sung the song, stated that no one had ever produced such a soft and superb interpretation of the classic. When Lambert asked Robinson what had inspired him to write “Tracks of My Tears”, the latter replied “to do it justice”.

Judge Simon Cowell called it the best performance of the night and added that Lambert “tonight really have emerged as a star”. Paula, apart from appreciting Lambert’s performance, loved his classy look. Kara found it awesome and said that it was ‘true artistry’. Way to go Lambert!

Adam Lambert positively slaughtered this country classic “Ring of Fire” most critic have stated. The American Idol season 8 performer, picked up the immortal Johnny Cash number in his 2nd week’s performance. There were reasons enough to pay a salute to the Grand Ole Opry, world’s longest running radio show.

Adam Lambert went down in a blaze of fire with his improvisations. Its great indeed to mold a song but Lambert’s Middle Eastern feel to this version of the song was too much to gulp down smoothly. “There are probably a lot of people throwing their TV set out the window right now”, said Simon so sarcastically. Randy Travis was struck silent by Lambert’s performance.

Although Lambert’s performance wasn’t much appreciated but his vocal quality sounded acceptable. Thats perhaps his strongest point. No one can take his voice and tonal quality away from him. But he might just land into a trouble this week due to his wrong selection of song. Country music is not the genre for the singer. But those who remember Lambert’s last week’s performance will surely vote for him.
