Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s bitter divorce has taken another interesting twist. There is news from authentic sources that the director has refused to accept a £20 million settlement from his soon to be ex-wife, Madonna.

The belligerent couple, who have declared about their divorce in public two weeks ago, are said to be “no closer” to even reaching and terms of settlement. Neither Madonna nor Ritchie is willing to back down.

Madonna’s biographer J Randy Taraborrelli stated that the couple “are at loggerheads” as published by the  Hello! Magazine. He also added that “here was a great deal of haggling about this matter last week, with Madonna upping the amount of Guy’s settlement to more than £20million in hopes that he would acquiesce”.

Reliable sources have reported that Ritchie has simply ignored and declined Madonna’s offer. Besides, there is another argument among the couple regarding their children and where they will live.

Madonna, who is 50 now, wants Rocco, Lourdes and her adopted son David to live with her in New York. But Ritchie, who is ten years younger to Madonna and is 40 now, wants the children to be educated in London.

Taraborrelli have said to the media shortly that, “they are not even speaking to each other. They communicate only through lawyers.” Another source added, “I do think it’s going to get nasty. He and Madonna are very angry now, no doubt about it, but they are willing to put that aside for their children. But I do think that if one sees the other linked up with a new partner so soon, it will make everything a lot more complicated for everyone involved.”

John Lennon

John Lennon has been finally granted forgiveness by the Vatican’s newspaper for announcing that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus Christ. His remark has been tagged as a “boast” by a young man dealing with sudden fame.

The comment was made by Lennon in 1966, which was published in a London newspaper and led the furious Christians, particularly in the United States, burn Beatles‘ albums in huge pyres. But time is actually the best healer and some wounds are healed in the best possible manner.

“The remark by John Lennon, which triggered deep indignation mainly in the United States, after many years sounds only like a ‘boast’ by a young working-class Englishman faced with unexpected success, after growing up in the legend of Elvis and rock and roll”, Vatican daily Osservatore Romano said.

The article, which marked the celebration of 40th anniversary of the Beatles’ “The White Album”, went on to praise the pop band. “The fact remains that 38 years after breaking up, the songs of the Lennon-McCartney brand have shown an extraordinary resistance to the passage of time, becoming a source of inspiration for more than one generation of pop musicians”, the article described.

Lennon was murdered in New York in 1980.

It has been confirmed by a representative of the star that Ashlee Simpson has given birth to her first child. The 24 year old singer and her husband Pete Wentz welcomed their first child, son Bronx Mowgli, together into the world.

Ashlee married  Pete, who is now 29 year old in May. It has been confirmed by the  Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center that Bronx Mowgli, the first child of the couple was born on last Thursday and weighed  7lb 11oz.

A representative of Ashlee said, “Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes”.

Pete, the Fall Out Boy rocker has lately disclosed that he had been seeking for parenting advice from Joel Madden, who has a nine-month-old daughter, Harlow, with his partner Nicole Richie. The singer added, “Joel gives me advice. It has been really awesome for me to go to another person my age”.

Jessica,  Ashlee’s older sister, said earlier last week that the singer of “Little Miss Obsessive”, Ashlee,  was trying everything to bring on labor. “Ashlee has been trying different foot massages and stuff. I don’t know. I think she’s really just jumping around trying everything right now”, Jessica added with a smile.

YouTube

There is great news for all the movie lovers. YouTube is bringing full length MGM movies in its website.

YouTube, the largest video-sharing website in the cyber world,  will feature  films and  television shows from MGM or Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s archives soon. It has been reported that this is the latest step to rise the advertising revenue by adding professional programming, the company told Reuters on Sunday. YouTube is currently owned by google.com. Google will mane an announcement about its new partnership with MGM on Monday.

“ American Gladiators” will be first of its kind to be featured on one of the channels of  YouTube. The viewers can also catch other programs like action films – “Bulletproof Monk” and “The Magnificent Seven”. Clips from popular movies like “Legally Blonde” will also be there in the site. These will be free to watch, with ads running alongside the video.

A hit group of local singers will perform the classic 007 theme songs at Aotea Centre on Saturday night, 22nd  November. Their message towards the audience, “For your ears only, it’s the music of Bond - James Bond”.

The music of  James Bond is made popular by the Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones and Nancy Sinatra, which will come alive again at  Aotea Centre, in  Auckland on  November 22nd with a bang that would not just be a show but a promise to be as glamorous as the iconic Bond films.

Audience will be enthralled to see the its own Bond girls in Kiwi vocalists Tina Cross, Caitlin Smith, Rebecca Wright and Taisha. They will be accompanied by a 20-piece orchestra. I’ve been a big fan of James Bond for ages, I think it’s had the most iconic and well-known movie themes, spanning generations”.

From the music of 1962’s Dr No to the latest release Quantum of Solace, Bond buffs can expect all the old favorites, including Goldfinger, Nobody Does it Better and Live and Let Die as well as a few surprises.

It was everyone from Madonna to Opera Winfrey to celebrate  Barack Obama’s presidential victory. And when it comes to doing anything Madonna doesn’t leave it half done. “The Material Girl” rejoiced Obama’s historical win with a scintillating rally of her own. She was followed by  thousands of fans to her concert in San Diego, which she began with her song “Express Yourself”.

“This is a historical evening! … We are lucky to be sharing it with each other!”, is what the pop star had to say about the victory of the new president of USA. A video clipping posted on YouTube showed the star clapping her hands in joy while she said those words.

There were many to follow Madonna when it came to congratulating Obama. The good cheer was joined by Oprah Winfrey, who expressed her joy through tears. She cried while celebrating Obama’s win in Chicago’s Grant Park. “ I was so, so, so excited and then just sort of a calm came over me. It feels like it actually is kind of real, so it feels great”, Winfrey  told the TV show “The Insider”. When she was asked what the victory wins for the nation she added, “ It means democracy at its finest. It’s just the best. We did this. America did this”.

“I congratulate President-elect Obama on his historic victory, and now it’s time to begin unifying the country so we can take on the extraordinary challenges that this generation faces”, said George  Clooney in a statement.

Colbie Caillat, the popular pop singer cried too after Obama won. She said that she feels the country is in “safe hands” now.

Besides expressing their joy in press conference the Hollywood stars also posted messeges online.  Lindsay Lohan raving on her  Myspace page wrote, “OBAMA IS OUR PRESIDENT!” She also said that everyone who has voted, “no matter their choice … should be proud for voting in the first place.”

West posted a portrait of Obama on his blog with the message “HI MOM, OBAMA WON!”, dedicating the post to his mother he passed away last November.

“ Who among us is not at a loss for words? Tears pour out. Tears of joy. Tears of relief. A stunning, whopping landslide of hope in a time of deep despair”. These strong words came from  director-provocateur Moore.

A new list by Fox News.com reveals Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry among the hottest mums in Hollywood. Earlier this year, Angelina gave birth to a twin baby, her 5th and 6th children with  Brad Pitt in August, and Halle gave birth to her first child in March. When Cher stirred a four-letter cuss-word during her acceptance speech at an awards show that was broadcast in the Television, federal regulators viewed the word as indecent. So too when NYPD Blue detective Andy Sipowicz (Dennis Franz) used dirty words. The  expletives were allowed in the TV broadcast of the movie Saving Private Ryan because, according to the regulators, they contributed to the work’s power and added realism to the film.

Such discriminations were taken up by the U.S. appeals court as a serious issue. It aligned last year with Fox Television Stations, where the Cher ebullition was aired, and ruled against the Federal Communications Commission’s new ban on “fleeting expletives”.  The  FCC policy was  announced arbitrary by the court  and the agency failed to warrant its deviation from a comparatively relaxed earlier policy on the one-time use of derogatory words on TV.

The appeal made by the FCC will be heard by the Supreme Court today. The outcomes for viewers could be substantially noteworthy. Fox, NBC and other broadcasters have mentioned that the FCC policy has interposed with their free-speech rights and caused widespread self-censorship. Fox lawyer  Carter Phillips said the scene of fines under the new policy could admonish the network airing of live entertainment and sports broadcasts.

Madonna and her bruited boyfriend Alex Rodriguez are reportedly seen together gushing to New York’s Hamptons district in a private helicopters some time during the last week to spend couple of hours (to be precise four hours) together.

Madonna has announced in public, earlier in October, that she and her soon to be ex-husband Guy Ritchie are signing a divorce after nearly eight years of their marriage. She was seen today with baseball player Alex, nicknamed A-Rod, flying to the US location using private helicopters, where they stayed in comedian Jerry Seinfeld’s house.

“The Seinfelds have been friends with Madonna for years. They’re neighbors on the West Side, so it’s really no surprise. And Jerry and his wife Jessica go to her concerts whenever she’s in town”, a close friend mentioned. Madonna and  A-Rod arrived in separate helicopters, 40 minutes after each other, for the confidant break.

The source also added “After Alex arrived at the mansion, there was a 40-minute break and then Madonna landed at the same airstrip. A dark SUV and Jerry in another Porsche both pulled up and picked up Madonna and they headed back to Jerry’s place. When they arrived at the Seinfeld home, Madonna poked her head out the window and could be clearly seen”.

Madonna, who is 50 now, and Alex, at his 33, spent four intimate hours at the mansion before heading back to Manhattan. “ About four hours later, the dark SUV left the house and took them all back to the airport. Madonna and the Seinfelds could clearly be seen getting out and piling into the helicopter that had taken Madonna there in the first place. They left together. Several minutes later, the helicopter that carried A-Rod also left”, was reported by a close source to the  New York Post.

When asked by the media, Madonna’s spokesperson said she was “unaware of the meeting”, while  Jerry Seinfeld and Alex’s representatives had nothing to add.

Russell Brand, who is the head of Britain’s most listened to radio station, has resigned today over an issue of a prank phone call made by him to actor the Andrew Sachs during his show, reported by the BBC news.

Followed by a call from the dashing comedian Russell Brand,  Lesley Douglas, Radio 2 controller, has reportedly stepped down from her post. Jonathan Ross, a popular television presenter, has drawn thousands of complaints on this issue. This was the top news of the Britain’s news agenda for the past couple of weeks.  Ross, who is  one of its most highly paid personalities, will remain suspended from all broadcasting for 12 weeks, reported the publicly funded BBC.

In a jury-rigged and swearing-laden message left on actor Andrew Sachs’ voice mail box, Ross had claimed that Brand had slept with Georgina Baillie, Sachs’ granddaughter. He also joked that hearing this Sachs might hang himself. Baillie had also acknowledged she had a sexual relationship with Brand but said the call to her
grandfather was unnecessarily ridiculous and cruel.

Sachs is best known for his role as the incompetent Spanish waiter, Manuel, in the classic comedy series Fawlty Towers. Thousands of his fans were dismayed to see the way this great comedian was harassed. The BBC’s plethora was intensified after it came out with the fact that the obscene phone call was not aired live, but had instead been recorded on October 16 and aired on Brand’s radio show two days later.

Douglas in a letter to BBC Director-General Mark Thompson stated that the reason for her resignation was the fact that it all happened under her watch. “t is a matter of the greatest possible sadness to me that a program on my network has been the cause of such a controversy,” she wrote in the letter, which was distributed to journalists. “I would like to take this opportunity to offer my personal apology to Andrew Sachs and his family and to the audience for what has happened”, was what Douglas had to say.

Brand also announced to quit his radio show on Wednesday, recording in a videotaped message that he “got a bit caught up in the moment.”

Michael Jackson has opted out of a rumored Jackson 5 reunion tour. Michael denied on Thursday that he would be a part of the alleged reunion of the famed Motown singing group. His elder brother Jermaine had said that Michael was “on board”. There were several opinions being generated on the reunion. The definitive denial comes as a surprise for the recent hot gossip topic. After all Michael is not inclined to make music with his brothers, it seems.

But it seems that a Jackson 5 reunion is not quite easy after so many years. Michael continued his agenda to crash all hopes of reuniting with Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito on a Jackson 5 reunion tour. The pop royalty rejuvenation dream is after all a distant reality. Jackson said in a statement released by rep Dr. Tohme : “My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we’ve certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them.” Jermaine Jackson, 53, was in Australia when he said in a statement on Wednesday that he and his band was working together on their music for the tour scheduled next year. “It is going to be more like a family affair,” he told the Australian Associated Press. “(Younger sister) Janet’s going to open and, of course, the original Jackson 5 … Michael, Randy and the whole family. … We’re in the studio, we’re planning on being out there next year.” Michael has all along shunned public appearances with his brothers. He has never shown encouragement for a reunion talk. He was not even present to collect a lifetime achievement award in Los Angeles in September in order to avoid showing up with his brothers. The Jackson 5 rose to fame in the early 1970s. They had belted out singles like “I Want You Back,” “ABC” and “I’ll Be There.” The group had their last tour in 1984, by which time Michael Jackson was a huge star in his own right.
Till then Michael can sooth his musical pursuit in his sweet old studio and all he can say about it is, “…developing new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon.”

Paris Hilton has moved away from his long time manager Jason Moore. Jason has worked for Hilton for the last 10 years. The parting comes amidst rumours that Hilton and Moore’s wife does not get along. A source said: “His new wife threatened to divorce him because he was always gone with Paris.”

But Moore denied such allegations. He said there were several reasons pertaining to both personal and professional world, “…but nothing had anything to do with my marriage….” Moore has walked away from one of his biggest clients ever.

Moore’s new wife is rumoured to have heavily threatened him of divorce because of his long time alliance with the millionaire socialite/heiress, but Hilton is currently dating pop star Benji Madden so the rumours are just a part of daily quota.

High School Musical:3

“High School Musical 3: Senior Year” the Disney’s latest production has paved its way to the top of the weekend chart of box office with a business of $42 million, while Lionsgate’s horror sequel “Saw V” acquired the second place with $30.5 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. Disney Channel TV movies’ big-screen sequel, “High School Musical 3″ had a record opening for a song-and-dance flick, easily beating the previous best set last summer by “Mamma Mia!”of $27.8 million.

“High School Musical 3″ and “Saw V” combined together to have send Hollywood revenues soaring upwards. The top 12 movies contributed an amount of $120.5 million, which is up by 41 percent from the same weekend last year, when “Saw IV” was released that led the weekend with a $31.8 million debut.

Paul Dergarabedian, the president of box office tracker Media By Numbers stated, “It was good vs. evil at the box office, and both won”. He also added, “That combination of a G-rated and an R-rated movie, both chasing completely different audiences, proved to be a huge success.”

The horror crowd for “Saw V” was simply outnumbered by the young fans and their parents who turned up to catch the  senior year ofr the “High School Musical” cast — led by Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel and Corbin Bleu.

“There’s no question there’s a female skew to it and a family skew to it,” Zoradi said. “The movie is working not only to that core preteen audience, but also aging up a little bit and also bringing in some boys.”

“High School Musical 3″ also collected an amount of $40 million in 19 other countries where it has opened like
Great Britain, Germany and Spain.
