Coldplay
Coldplay has expressed their desire to play with Take That. They are planning to perform on a big stadium show. Coldplay frontman has posted on the band’s website : “I would open for Take That. We were in the dressing room the other day and, for whatever reason, we started singing ‘Back For Good.’” Chris has written that he would love to perform in a show next summer.
Chris Martin wants to use the Coldplay website as their platform to “…announce that if Take That want us to open for them, we’ll do it…”
Coldplay had failed in an attempt to book legendary concert venue Knebworth House, in Hertfordshire, England. They had planned long before for their proposed 2009 tour. Presently they are looking for the right venue. Take That will perform at London’s Wembley Stadium, Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium and Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson has opted out of a rumoured Jackson 5 reunion tour. Michael denied on Thursday that he would be a part of the alleged reunion of the famed Motown singing group. His elder brother Jermaine had said that Michael was “on board”. There were several opinions being generated on the reunion. The definitive denial comes as a surprise for the recent hot gossip topic. After all Michael is not inclined to make music with his brothers, it seems.
But it seems that a Jackson 5 reunion is not quite easy after so many years. Michael continued his agenda to crash all hopes of reuniting with Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito on a Jackson 5 reunion tour. The pop royalty rejuvenation dream is after all a distant reality. All courtesy to troubled pop star Michael Jackson. Jackson,50, said that he was in the studio busy producing to come up with “new and exciting projects.”

Jackson 5
Jackson said in a statement released by rep Dr. Tohme : “My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we’ve certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them.” Jermaine Jackson, 53, was in Australia when he said in a statement on Wednesday that he and his band was working together on their music for the tour scheduled next year. “It is going to be more like a family affair,” he told the Australian Associated Press. “(Younger sister) Janet’s going to open and, of course, the original Jackson 5 … Michael, Randy and the whole family. … We’re in the studio, we’re planning on being out there next year.” Michael has all along shunned public appearances with his brothers. He has never shown encouragement for a reunion talk. He was not even present to collect a lifetime achievement award in Los Angeles in September in order to avoid showing up with his brothers. The Jackson 5 rose to fame in the early 1970s. They had belted out singles like “I Want You Back,” “ABC” and “I’ll Be There.” The group had their last tour in 1984, by which time Michael Jackson was a huge star in his own right.
Till then Michael can sooth his musical pursuit in his sweet old studio and all he can say about it is, “…developing new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon.”

Leonard Cohen
Leonard Cohen, one the most influential songwriters and known names of his generation, will be playing in New Zealand in the coming year.
This 74 year old Canadian musician is loved for his deep, dark voice. Besides being a musician Leonard Cohen is also a poet, novelist and, briefly, Buddhist monk. He will be playing at Auckland’s Vector Arena on Thursday January 22 and Wellington’s TSB Arena on Tuesday January 20.
Leonard Cohen’s first album, The Songs of Leonard Cohen was released in 1967. Since then this great music creator has the fame of releasing only 11 albums all of which were highly appreciated by the audiences.
Bird on a Wire and Hallelujah, the two of his most popular songs, have been recorded many times by various artists such as the Neville Brothers and the late Jeff Buckley. The other voices of his songs have included Bob Dylan, Tori Amos, and New Zealand’s own Straitjacket Fits, who released So Long Marianne as a single.
In the beginning of 2008 Cohen was initiated into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Lou Reed. Reed, when questioned about the Cohen’s baritone voice said, “Cohen’s is the voice of the gravel crunching under your shoe. He’s the voice of the rickety rocking chair creaking on the porch. There’s nothing sweet about that voice. It socks you in the gut the way good noises should”.
Cohen will be accompanied at his shows in New Zealand by the popular Kiwi poet Sam Hunt. Tickets will be on sale from Monday, November 10th 2008.

Led Zeppelin
Robert Plant is being left out. The British Rockers Led Zeppelin is planning a possible tour without the lead and frontman Robert Plant, who refused to unite with his former band despite outside pressure to reunite with his band mates.
Jimmy Page, the Guitarist and John Paul Jones, the bassist/instrumentalist were the ones most interested to return to the stage circuit. Along with Page and Jones, Jason Bonham, the drummer is also keen to return to the stage arena. A grand affair is in its way to hit the main stream music.
BBC has had reported about the grand affair. BBC’s Radio Devon has been told by Jones that the band had tried to find a possible replacement for Plant. “We want to do it. It’s sounding great and we want to get on and get out there,” he said at a guitar show in Exeter, southwest England.
Led Zeppelin the legendary Rock band who were famous for infusing several genres together to bring out a good compiled music with rich musical tones saw a break up in 1980. Led Zeppelin was the only band that did not believe in bringing out their singles individually from their albums. They had always planned to develop the concept of album-oriented rock. Led Zeppelin is still fresh in the minds of music fanatics who remember the band for their tremendous musical achievements, experiments, commercial success and broad influence. The band have sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. Jones has revelaed the band’s pnals to tour and bring out a new record.
Many other legendary rock bands have had their share of replacements like the Queen who has worked Paul Rodgers on lead vocals instead of Freddie Mercury. So quite obviously Jones believed, “It’s got to be right. There’s no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don’t want to be our own tribute band.” It was like a self realisation when he was talking to BBC Radio. A full reunion tour is on its way leading to calls from fans all over the world.

Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson the fallen star/pop legend plans a super comeback. The big comeback will supposedly have a 30 days live spectacular around the globe. Jackson’s last album was in 2001. The King of Pop had his last major tour in 1996. Rumours surfaced that Jackson was planning an Elvis-style Vegas comeback. Jackson will be releasing an LP in Las Vegas. He is surely going to stun the music world with his surprise package. His massive world tour is to come up next year (09). Jackson lived the life of a recluse for a long time after the child abuse case that made a mess of his cult status.
His 2005 allegations marred his image as well as his future albums and plans. After he was cleared of all the allegations of child abuse the Thriller star set his goal for a grand opening, a rechristening of his fallen career. But his real plans were allegedly slipped by him during a visit to an antiques store in Hollywood on Thursday (23Oct08). His comeback will be for his kids. A close source adds , “He wants them to see what he does, and he wants to take them on the road. He said he was on his way to Los Angeles to finalise the details.” An onlooker at the antiques store revealed, “Michael said he wasn’t doing a Vegas residency but was going on a world tour, taking in 30 cities next year…” His real plans were after all made to be slipped off for the benefit of all Jackson lovers and the ones who have waited for years missing already to get a glimpse of the next album of the legend.

Britney Spears has started off on her fast track second phase of her singing career. She is getting a strong hold wherever she is setting her eyes.
Presently her musical comeback is seeing a boost up with her new single,”Womanizer” from her yet to release album becoming a huge hit already. “Womanizer” broke all records jumping at the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart on Wednesday. This at last is a great news. A long battle was fought by the superstar pop diva who was surviving on personal woes and several other things that made negative news.
Her life was miserably low when she turned around to set things right. The 3 MTV VM Awards set the stage and there seems no looking back for Britney.
Her new album which is slated to release on December 2, will feature on her upcoming tour, the first since she went into oblivion in 2004.
Billboard said that her new single has jumped straight from No.96 to No.1 in the past week. Her “Womanizer” is also listed No. 1 on iTunes charts in Canada, France, Spain and Sweden.
Billboard reasons the sudden leap as the result of the rise in first-week download sales of 286,000 which Billboard feels, is the biggest opening week tally by a female artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital downloads in 2003.
The release of the song would definitely go on to settle things as the album release and its future would be determined by the popularity of the singles, much before the album actually releases officially.
charts were released to support her upcoming tour in 2009 and her album “Circus” which is to be released in December.
Spears who had hit the wrong end of the media by fending off paparazzi with an umbrella, shaving her head, sex tape scare, custody battles of her son and several other news, is on the mending road. A 90-minute documentary is to be aired on MTV on November 30 to gain public support and popularity. Britney’s 2007 song “Piece of Me” won three awards at the MTV video music awards.
We should remember Spears’ outstanding contribution in music and teen stardom. She was one of the top ranking superstars in the list of the best-selling international artists of the last decade with sales of more than 62 million albums which is surely to be regarded as an achievement at such an early age like hers.

Last Saturday Bon Jovi gave a live concert to his fans by performing free at Central Park. The show was part of the last leg of a grueling tour that started in New Jersey. As part of its “Lost Highway” tour Bon Jovi and company will also perform at Madison Square Garden on Monday and Tuesday.
Central Park has been a host to only a handful of performances like that of Garth Brooks, Pope John Paul II, Paul Simon and Barbra Streisand. The band therefore felt that they were privileged to be up there with the greats since only a handful of performances took place on the venue. Even though the tickets of the said concerts were free and New York City officials had distributed some 60,000 of them yet there were still some who hawked their tickets on eBay for as much as $1500 for two. However this didn’t act as a damper to the New York spirit. According to Bon Jovi they tried to share the experience with their fans and they did what they do best belting out char busters like “Livin’ on a Prayer” “Born to be my Baby,” “Lost Highway,” and “Runaway.” The band has been entertaining their fans for almost 2 decades now with sales up to a 100 million records worldwide.
