Angelina Jolie was  seen in tears while she spoke about her late mother during a press conference. The actor was attending the press conference for her upcoming film “Changeling” in London.

Jolie’s  French-Canadian mother passed away in January 2007. The 33 year old actor is reported to have dedicated her performance in the film to her late mother while she made an emotional tribute to late actress Marcheline Bertrand.

“She was really sweet and was never angry - she couldn’t swear to save her life. But when it came to her kids, she was really fierce and so this is very much her, her story.  She was the woman I related to, who had that elegance and strength through just knowing what was right”, Jolie said in the press meet today.

The actor also confirmed that she would be replacing Tom Cruise in Edwin A. Salt, a new spy thriller and has completely denied the claims of her retirement from acting.  Jolie, who has 6 children with Brad Pitt has also added, “I’m not making some retirement announcement. I have a big family and a lot of responsibility at home, and I have the good fortune to financially not have to work all the time. I just feel privileged that I get to be home a lot. But maybe eventually I’ll stop acting”.

Reg Varney

The actor of the 1970s television comedy “On The Buses”, Reg Varney,  died on Sunday.  BBC reported that the actor was 92 years of age when he passed away. He was suffering from an illness and was admitted to  a nursing home in Devon where he finally died.

Jeanne Marley, his daughter mentioned today that her father had passed away quite peacefully.

Reg Varney was born in  east London. He began his career by playingd piano at working men’s clubs before he started to serve in the Royal Engineers during World War Two. He was also an army entertainer here. 1961 marks as his first television appearance in the BBC comedy show “The Rag Trade”.

Varney was best known for his role as driver Stan Butler in “On The Buses”, which was a popular ITV series first broadcast in 1969 and which spawned three spin-off movies.

Miriam Makeba

The sultry voice shall be heard no more. The “Mama Africa”, Miriam Makeba who presented the South Africans a hope to live when the country was gripped by political changes that was not in the favor of the people. She has died of a heart attack after collapsing on stage in Italy. Miriam was 76 when she died.

Miriam’s career is studded with performances with musical legends from around the world that includes jazz maestros Nina Simone and Dizzy Gillespie, Harry Belafonte, Paul Simon. She has also sung for world leaders such as John F. Kennedy and Nelson Mandela. She was banned from South Africa for over 30 years due to her distinctive style, which included jazz, folk and South African township rhythms.

“Her haunting melodies gave voice to the pain of exile and dislocation which she felt for 31 long years. At the same time, her music inspired a powerful sense of hope in all of us”, once Mandela have referred about Makeba. He also added that it was “fitting” for a great singer like her to die on the stage.

Her family reported that Makeba collapsed on the stage after performing her  most famous hits Pata Pata.

Police investigators remove a body from the house of Jennifer Hudson

Recent documents have proved that a suspect in the Chicago murders of three members of Jennifer Hudson’s family was arrested for drug possession in June this year. But this was not announced by the  state officials earlier.

Parole records were received by The Associated Press, which also indicate that William Balfour missed a meeting with his parole agent last Friday. That’s when the mother and brother of the Oscar winner Hudson were murdered and her 7-year-old nephew went missing.

Balfour is the disaffected husband of Hudson’s sister. He is being held on a different parole violation and police have named him a person of interest. No one has been charged with the killings.

Hudson’s nephew was found dead on Monday. Authorities declared the death of the child as a homicide on Tuesday.

Christina Applegate

Ex-Boyfriend of Christina Applegate the actress well known from the hit Fox series Married…with Children was found dead on Tuesday. The cause of death was possibly through a drug overdose since the 26 year old Lee Grivas had a history of drug abuse.

Lee Grivas was a fisherman by profession and the couple had dated briefly after the actress was separated from her husband. The Emmy Award winning actress had met the aspiring photographer who was 10 years her junior, while working in Broadway for the musical Sweet Charity. They started seeing each other around 2006 but the relationship soon got over. The star recently known for her series Samantha Who? released a statement saying that he was an important part of her life and expressed concern for the surviving members of his family.
