Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise has revealed that he had learning problems when he was 7. Cruise has credited Scientology for making him able to conquer his childhood disability, dyslexia. The Mission Impossible star has told Spanish magazine XL Semanal: “When I graduated from high school in 1980 I was functionally illiterate.”

Tom has been a Scientology hardliner. He credits his well being to his religion. He explained that his being “functionally illiterate” posed a row of problems in his early life.
Tom explained: “I asked myself if I was normal or an idiot. I would try to concentrate but I felt anxiety, frustration, boredom…”

Tom had offended members of the dyslexia community in 2003. Tom had claimed in an interview that Scientology had cured his dyslexia. Tom claims that he got over with his problems by diligently reading L. Ron Hubbard’s ‘The Basic Study Manual’. He talked about his days when he struggled with his illness: “Nobody gave me a solution and I wanted to know why the system had failed. Finally, as an adult I learned to read perfectly through the method of (Scientology founder) L.Ron Hubbard.”

Cruise is the founding member of the Scientology-based Hollywood Education and Literacy Project. He claimed that after reading Hubbard’s book ‘The Basic Study Manual’, his dyslexia was cured forever.

The Church of Scientology was established in 1945 by science-fiction writer L.Ron Hubbard and claims 10 million members around the world. Tom has been a devoted patron to the Scientology cause and the religion as a whole.

Take That

Movie producers have approached the successful boy band - Take That to create a film of their own. The band has seen all sides of the success story. Take That has been approached for a film chronicling.

The story is reportedly to feature the days after the band split. The story would follow the lives of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Jason Orange struggling to find solo success away from the group post split.

The producers approaching the stars are convinced that their story would be an instant hit. Band mates Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald are reportedly on board the project.

Robbie Williams would not feature in the film. Neither would the other bandmates feature in the film. Take That reformed in 2005. They would reportedly take care of the casting and directing. Robbie’s presence in the project is yet to be known. Robbie Williams has recenlty sparked off a grand reunion with Take That.

Forest Whitaker

Forest Whitaker is all set to start off with the cast of the action film ‘The Expendables’.

The film will be a first writing and directing effort by Stallone.

Whitaker will be playing a CIA liaison for a group of mercenaries (played by Stallone, Jet Li, Randy Couture and Jason Statham) who are secretly sent for overthrowing a South American dictator.

Stallone has been striving hard to get Forest’s dates. The shooting is scheduled for a February start.

Nu Image/Millennium Films is producing the film. Stallone has a two-picture deal with Nu Image/Millennium.

‘Expendables’ is the first project of Stallone’s deal. Whitaker is a fine choice as the powerful actor won his Academy for “The Last King of Scotland”.

Whitaker next appears in “Hurricane Season” and “Repossession Mambo.”

Amy Winehouse

Wino’s new year resolution was to get back to normal life. The contralto singer has vowed to turn back and come off her old bad habits. Amy Winehouse had pledged to leave aside drug and alcohol addiction and move forward her singing career. While holidaying in St Lucia Amy was seen kissing calypso singer Shayne Ross at a beach barbecue. Amy is reportedly dating or trying to find love in someone.

Wino is struggling with her divorce with jailbird hubby Blake Fielder-Civil. In the mean time Winehouse is shaping up well in the start of 2009. She is reportedly working out better already. Amy had earlier said that she was following a strict diet and a healthy-eating routine.

Amy has recently revealed her desire to permanently shift her base from the UK to the Caribbean. Amy Winehouse feels that the music in the Caribbean enthralls her. She said: “I could easily live here, the people are amazing and the local music scene is inspiring.”

A source revealed: “Amy has seen Shayne on a few occasions. She’s been playing her guitar lots and wrote a song about divorcing her long-term bloke for a Caribbean lover.”

Amy was seen in a much healthier toned body while she was on a holiday. Her new found joy has seen her taking a u-turn in her life. She is reportedly exercising in the gym with a personal trainer. Wino has taken personal initiative in eating healthy.

A source further added: “She’s very enthusiastic about her sessions and bounds in to work out on the bikes, weights and Power Plate.”

Emma Thompson

Emma Thomson has revealed that she had to fight hard with her depression when she was in her twenties. The Oscar winning star admitted how hard it was to fight the dark days of her career. The ace actress said that the bout of depression struck her during her stint on the London stage.

Emma’s long struggle with depression was curable only with creative therapy techniques. She says, “I’m prone to depression and to all sorts of mental illnesses. I did a musical in the West End - I became clinically depressed even though I was being paid to be cheerful. I had no life at all. I lived like a nun. I didn’t drink. I didn’t have sex. I was 24 for crying out loud. No wonder I was depressed.”

Emma has come a long way from her darkest nightmare days. She struggled to get pregnant. During the time her daughter Gaia was born Emma struggled the most. Emma Thompson has found a novel way to fight her depression and be at peace.

Emma added: “I discovered something about writing recently. With writing, you can pick up a pen and say, ‘I have to write’. And you should certainly write your early experiences because they are fascinating. Writing has freed me a lot.”

Writing frees her mind. Emma also said that she manages her mood when she writes. It is like a therapy for her.

Scarlett Johansson

The dashing actress, Scarlett Johansson has claimed that she is “happy” that she could keep her marriage with Ryan Reynolds a secret. Scarlett married actor Ryan in a low profile marriage ceremony in September.

Her reason for the happiness is that she could tie the knot far away from public glare. Scarlett also said that she spent a lot of time planning on the intimate nuptials. Ultimately she decided and the ceremony took place at a far off and a remote resort near Vancouver, Canada.

Johansson has dared her fans with a nice suggestions. The actress said that she does not tear her hairs off thinking about aging. Scarlette felt that when she starts aging she would get more challenging roles. The 24 year old actress says she would be rather happy to allow her growth to be taken positively.

She explained: “I look forward to the opportunity aging will bring. I feel like the hype that comes with being young in the industry will kind of dissipate and that there are some really good roles in my future. Then again, I say that as an actor who thinks every job is their last job.”

Scarlett also said that she respected Drew Barrymore because of the latter’s ability to do what she loved the most. Drew Barrymore was Scarlett’s co-star in ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’. Scarlett explained : “Drew makes movies that she likes, that she is proud of, that people love, that are entertaining. I would love to be able to do that someday, have a production company and encourage other directors and writers to follow their vision.” Scarlett’s love and respect for her co-star is evident in her words. Scarlett’s eagerness and earnestness sure would help her climb the ladders of glorious stardom with the changing times.

Steven Gerrard

England mid-fielder Steven Gerrard who is regarded as a supreme soccer star has messed up his career with a brawl in Lounge Inn bar-restaurant. The ace 28 year old Liverpool star could well face up to five years in jail. He was arrested after being charged with assault last night over a punch-up in which a DJ was beaten.

Gerrard was with his friends celebrating his team’s victory over Newcastle on Sunday. He also celebrated for his two goals and a good 5-1 thrashing of Newcastle. All hell broke loose when Gerrard asked the DJ to hand him the playing card which allows one to change the music. DJ Marcus refused to hand him the card saying he could not alter the music policy.

A party witness said : “The whole thing lasted less than ten seconds. Gerrard was pulled out of the scrapping and it turned into a free-for-all…” Witnesses also said that there have been brawls earlier in the bar.

British soccer fans are shocked for Gerrard’s behaviour. England team boss Fabio Capello has already considered Gerrard for the 2010 World Cup.

Gerrard broke into a fight where part-time DJ Marcus McGee, 34, was wounded and needed four stitches to head wounds. Witnesses said there were Blood and shards of broken glass everywhere. The punch up took place on the floor of the pub which left England soccer hero Gerrard in police custody.

A shocked witness said: “Someone made a comment and it all went off.” Gerrard is believed to have gone through nine hours of police grilling.

Gerrard’s violent brawl comes after a few days when he spoke of the need for a crackdown on violence.

Gerrard who earns a whopping £120,000-a-week is reverred by young footballers for his 70 England caps feat.

DJ Marcus McGee was rushed to hospital after fighting broke out in the Lounge Inn bar-restaurant at around 2.30am yesterday.

Detectives reportedly spoke to witnesses and  rummaged through CCTV from the bar and surrounding streets.

Gerrard’s mansion home in Formby is close by from the crime scene. Marcus the DJ was with his friends who had an argument with Gerrard’s mates.

The witness said : “Marcus stepped in as peacemaker and it calmed down for a while. Everyone was drinking and having a good time. But when Marcus’s mates left, he was on his own and it was then that him and Gerrard started rowing by the dance floor.”

Dad-of-two Gerrard has captained England four times. Days ago he wrote a special Prayer for Liverpool for the city’s Anglican Cathedral. It read: “My hope for Liverpool for 2009 would be an end to gun and knife crime, making the city a place our kids can grow up to be proud of.”

Peter Andre is working hard to make everything right for his upcoming record. Andre’s New Year resolution will be to make his album hugely successful.

The 35-year-old star said that he is striving hard for a desperate fame. He has planned a grand May release. Andre wants his album to be an instant hit.

Peter has a family with his wife Katie Price and three children. Andre also desires to have sex as the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve. Andre said that he would love to involve people in his party but that would be made possible only if he and Katie were disguised.

He added: “I’d like us to go to a masked party where no one knew who we were. I’d have sex with Katie in front of people if no one recognised us.” Peter revealed that it has been his dream to make love to his wife Katie Price as the new year begins but only if he can time it right.

Peter says he and his wife are still unsure as where to spend their 2009. He said: “I want to go to Australia, but I don’t think we’ll be able to as we’re going to America in January, so I think it’ll all be too tight.”

On a recent reality show of his own(Katie & Peter: The Next Chapter), Andre revealed that he is working on a super solo album. He also said that with the album his hopes would reach an ‘aspiration goal.’

Andre also revealed in the show that he and his wife Katie Price would work and plan on another joint album for charity due to the success of their first album A Whole New World.

Amy’s darkest secrets are out yet again. Alex Haines who has recently claimed that he was a former boyfriend of Amy Winehouse has said that he grew intimate with Amy after Amy’s husband Blake Fielder Civil was sentenced a 27 month prison term. Alex revealed that Amy looked thin because she had eating disorder - Bulimia. Alex had often seen puke all over Amy’s bathroom. Sometimes Amy would gorge on 10 chocolates or a massive McDonalds meal and throw up the entire food soon after having them.

Alex had seen Amy from close quarters. That is what he claims. He said that Amy was as sex starved and dirty about sex as she was about her drug addiction. Allegedly Amy would often wake Alex up from sleep and have sex with him. He told the ‘News of the World’ newspaper: “It was like having my own little porn star. Amy was so dirty she wanted sex all the time. We did it four or five times a day and she’d even wake me up for it. She was addicted to sex like she was to drugs.”

Amy Winehouse had opened up to Alex. Alex claims that Amy had told him about her eating disorder. He reveals: “She told me she suffered from it for a long time. Several times I went into her bathroom and saw sick all over the sink…” Amy Winehouse is presently looking healthier and in sync with life. She recently made herself public on a holiday in St. Lucia.

Amy Winehouse is believed to be a massive drug addict. Alex has revealed that she would spend £3,500 a week on drugs at the height of her addiction. Amy’s desperate addiction coerced her to scrape heroin remnants from her drug-taking paraphernalia with a screwdriver. She would grow mad if she didn’t get her daily dose. Alex revealed Amy’s frightful addictive moments : “Amy had to have a heroin or a crack pipe near her or she freaked out. She’d keep taking drugs until she passed out. I reckon she spent £3,500 a week on them.”When Amy ran out of drugs she would cut the bottle she used to take them in half and sit there on the floor completely wired, scraping the inside to get the residue with a screwdriver.”

Speculations are rife that Kate Beckinsale would love to play CATWOMAN in the next BATMAN movie. Kate is determined to take more action oriented roles. After “Underworld” had a massive success that put Beckinsale on a firm action footing,the actress wants to enjoy her actions!

According to internet gossip, Angelina and Kate are fighting for the contender’s role for the upcoming Batman movie. Kate had earlier said that she would take up the role if she was cast opposite Christian Bale in a new film about the Caped Crusader. She said she could agree upon her role as the villainess in a follow-up to this year’s (08) The Dark Knight only if she chanced upon a role opposite Christian Bale.

She tells MTV.com, “Absolutely, that would be awesome. I’d love to do that.” She explained why she was more keen to star in action oriented films and her career did not take on full on even after successfully playing a vampire’s role in “Underworld”. “One of the things I’ve done wrong with my career is not have a massive game plan for it. I was very surprised to ever find myself even considered for an action movie. I’m like the literary, academic geek who’s not very good at sports, so it was amazingly shocking that anyone would ever do that. I like to be surprised,” Kate added.

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer  Aniston wants to gift her a very special film on her 40th birthday. Jennifer has started requesting and calling up major movie bosses to rethink about ‘Friends’. She wants to recreate the magic of the popular TV series into a film. She has started urging movie bosses to simply “hurry up” before her co-stars decide on the negative and they become a cast of “geriatrics”! All along there have been rumours of a possible movie coming up. But Friends stars have denied all such rumours suggesting an impossible remake of the series.

In 2004 ‘Friends’ came to an end. But rumours kept on and are kept alive til today. Aniston said in a recent interview with People magazine that her co-stars would jump into doing ‘Friends’ all over again in any form that came their way.

“We know how much people want that, and we would of course do it if it’s right. But I say do it way before we get to be geriatric Friends. “Let’s hurry it up,” Aniston added.

Rumours of screen adaptations have been galore. Aniston felt that the six characters simply waited to be put on screen. It was just upto the powers that be that the wait would be determined of how long or short it would turn out to be.

Robbie Williams has struck gold. The singer is gaining strong hold over the lost territory. Robbie Williams had fallen off the charts ladder after his album Rudebox flopped in 2006. But if we go by the present market hearsays, Robbie’s success story is well prepared to be rewritten. Robbie’s upcoming album and hiatus from the mainstream makes a subject of much interest. The news of Robbie’s TAKE THAT reunion has also made his stocks rise dramatically.

The record industry is gradually lining up to take him into confidence. Robbie could be up for some great deals and cash flows. An inside source reveals: “He went into rehab and has spent time getting his head together. But now his next deal could be a record-breaker. Word is getting out that his new album is sounding brilliant and the Take That reunion coverage has helped. Live Nation would be very keen. They have recently signed Madonna and U2 on massive deals. They could give Robbie a huge contract which would include his releases, live dates and all the extras that accompany that.”

A year ago Robbie was in the dark and unsure of his future. He even went into the oblivion. Such was Robbie’s low popularity that his manager Tim Clark also felt that Robbie was not fit for a second rise. He had said : “I would be very wary about signing him to any major at the moment.”

Robbie Williams will bring out his next album in September 2009 supposedly. It will be his last studio album under EMI label. The music industry awaits Robbie’s end of term with EMI deal.

After a spate of rumours about a possible Take That reunion Robbie Williams has made his desires vocal. In a public statement after his return to his British homeland Robbie said: “I’d love to be in the band again.” This is the strongest statement so far.

Garry Barlow and Robbie had met recently for jam sessions. There have been reports and hearsays about their reunion gig recording for a special DVD.

But everything seemsa to have changed after Take Thats recent success. Last night he said he would “love” to rejoin them, simply adding: “I’d like to think we’d be the only band in the history of music to get together because of artistic differences.”

Last month Robbie and Garry had met at an Arsenal football match. They had discussed about their possible reunion and comeback album. The singer, 34, who has lived in Los Angeles for five years, has had his old group’s symbol tattooed on his right arm. The British singer living in Los Angeles, USA has dished out £7million on an historic Wiltshire mansion, which he plan to set up as his base for a charm offensive to promote his new album next year. Robbie sporting a tattoo of his band mates said he found himself “over the moon” for his old group for their hugely successful comeback.

Robbie even wrote a message about his plans on his Inner Sanctum website.

Take That (Old Days)

He said : “Just thought I’d set a few things straight about me and the boys. We got together a lot over the summer. It was amazing. We’ve all matured a lot since we parted. I’m very pleased to say the differences we’ve had have just melted away…” He said that the band members chatted and laughed like old days. He said that he wants to put back things. “…I celebrated by getting the Take That symbol tattooed on my right arm. I’m proud to know the boys and I’m proud to have been in the band.”

Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves believes that there are other life forms outside the earth. He strongly believes in the existance of ET or alien life. Keanu stars in a movie where he stars as a being from outer space. His upcoming film is “The Day the Earth Stood Still”. He says that the existence of other life forms beyond the earth seems very “likely” to him.

Keanu who stars alongside Jennifer Connelly in the remake of the famous 1951 film also spoke about the possibilities of his return as ‘Neo’ in another movie in ‘The Matrix’ film franchise.

The 44 year old actor has told US TV show ‘Extra’ that although Neo died in the last Matrix flick, ‘The Matrix Revolutions’ the film’s return was a definite possibility in the near future. When asked, how was it possible for Neo to return when he himself unplugged to save both the humans and the Machines in the alternative world, Reeves was quick to reply : “Never say no but I don’t think it’s going to happen, and besides, I’m dead”, which sure has something !

Adrien Brody

Adrien Brody wants to move his career from parallel to mainstream films. Brody who is regarded by directors as an actor best suited for character roles wants to shift his base and image. Brody said that he is sick of landing quirky roles. He put in front his desires of working with directors who would atleast consider him for the ‘mainstream’ roles.

Brody who won his Best Actor Academy Award for playing the role of a Jewish Pianist in 2002 drama of Roman Polanski’s “The Pianist”. He has always stuck to a genre that was not much taken by the mainstream actors. His roles in “The Village” and “Hollywoodland” were offbeat. He struck mainstream with 2005’s “King Kong”. Brody wants to expand his career just like he did in “King Kong”.

“What I still crave more of is great roles. I wish the studios would see me in more mainstream movies but there are a handful of actors that routinely get that chance because they are supposedly safe bets. In that sense, Hollywood is a business. It’s not really about the work”,Brody explained. He has urged the “Hollywood Movie Bosses” to consider him for more “mainstream” roles.
