Twilight and New Moon all set to release

Summit is right now negotiating with US Theater Operators about the number of screens they will allow or make available for a one night show for Twilight. The blockbuster vampire film will be screened for a single night. A reliable source reports that some of the theaters have also agreed upon selling tickets of Twilight as a discounted rate, while the other theaters might charge full rate. There is also news of Twilight being screened at the same venue where New Moon will open on November 20th.

Directed by Catherine Hardwicke, the modern vampire love tale “Twilight” is a film based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling teen book series. Starring Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart as Bella, the movie went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year generating a sum of $383.5 million in worldwide ticket sales. Twilight also sold about 8 million DVDs in US and Canada alone.

The decision of re-releasing Twilight has been souly taken to gratify the demands of the fans who wanted to see the film on the big screen again, reported the summit. Speculations are going on that double ticket sales from both “Twilight” and “New Moon” would be a highly beneficial to Summit. This will also benifit the Theater owners.

Angelina Jolie Reading up on Iraq

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie

How does Angelina Jolie relax while shooting for her upcoming movie? By Reading. And it’s not just light summer rerading. The actress, on the set of her new movie “Salt,” was spotted carrying around a copy of “War of Necessity, War of Choice: A Memoir of Two Iraq Wars” by Richard N. Haass.

Does this mean Jolie wants to add ‘politician’ to her list of credentials?” said Dominique Hines in the Mail Online. It wouldn’t be too surprising considering Angie is already playing her role as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations. But the rate at which she and her husband Brad Pitt are adopting children, Hines fears that Jolie “may have her hands too full” to “add a career in politics to her ambitions.”

Jolie carrying a book on Iraq War. Does that mean that she is “going to run for office?” But why the speculation? Given that Jolie has an interest in politics and has been involved in humanitarian efforts for a while now, it is not a very unexpected thing that she is reading Haass’ book. Is it?

New Dan Brown novel coming up

Dan Brown

Dan Brown

It has been six years since Dan Brown got his mega-selling and much talked about ¨The Da Vinci Code¨ published. Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group has announced that the writer´s next book, ¨The Lost symbol¨ will be out in September this year.

¨The Lost Symbol¨ is a thriller that takes place over a period of 12 hours and features the symbolist Robert Langdon who had appeared in ¨he Da Vinci Code.¨ The first printing will release 5 million copies. It is the highest in the publisher´s history. Yet, it is much below the figure set by the seventh Harry potter book- a whopping 10 million. Brown´s previous novel

¨The Da Vinci Code¨ has sold more than 80 million copies worldwide. It was made into a film that starred Tom Hanks as Professor Langdon, and was released in 2006. The box office turnover was more than $700 million. The film adaptation of Brown´s ¨Angels & Demons¨, also starring Tom Hanks, is set to release in May.

About ¨The Lost Symbol¨ Dan Brown has said in a statement issued by his publisher on Monday ”This novel has been a strange and wonderful journey. Weaving five years of research into the story’s twelve-hour time frame was an exhilarating challenge. Robert Langdon’s life clearly moves a lot faster than mine.”

By Monday night, ¨The Lost Symbol¨ was at no.1 position on Barnes & Noble.com, and close to the top 100 on Amazon.com. Both these sites have offered the book at a discounted price (40% discount to be precise). The announcement made by the publisher has revealed neither the plot of the story nor the location where it is set.

For years now, Dan Brown fans have been in suspense as the author produced no book. In 2004, his publisher Doubleday had hinted on his upcoming novel which was to be titled ¨The Solomon Key¨ and was about the Freemasons in Washington D.C. A guide to that novel was also published.

She said about her friends : “These are the women who read voraciously and with passion. No TV for them before bed (I need a little something, even 10 minutes of ‘The X Factor’ or a forensic pathology documentary, just something, for Lord’s sake!).”

Paltrow has been a part of English Literature film adaptations in her career. Her favourites include Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky and The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles.
