Kanye West Upset Taylor Swift at VMA 2009

It was one of the most embarrassing moments that Taylor Swift has ever been through. The singer herself was surprised as her name was announced as the winner of the Best Female Music Video in VMA on Sunday evening. While Swift was on the stage receiving her award for the same Kanye West suddenly broke in and snatched away the microphone from the country singer during her acceptance speech.
“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!” said West in a rude way.
Taylor looked completely lost and embarrassed, stanging motionless on the center stage. She perhaps did not know what to do as West continued his ranting speech. After sometime the audience took charge of the matter and booed the rapper down the stage. Swift was overtly upset with the whole mis-hap. Its been reported that she was comforted by her friends and family immediately after the incident.
West was immidiately asked to leave the show by a big-wig at MTV, reported a reliable source. But this has not shocked many present for the MTV’s Video Music Awards, 2009. Kanye has a track record of such erratic behavior in public shows. He is best at throwing tantrums during award shows.
In 2004, when Kanye won the award for the best rap album at the Grammys, he said in his acceptance speech, “A lot of people were wondering what I was going to do if I didn’t win anything. I guess we’ll never know”.
Taylor began her speech with “I alwaysI dreamed about winning this someday, but I never thought it would happen. I sing country music”, but couldn’t continue for long. Soon before she could understand anything her microphone was ripped away by West.
While Beyonce’s name was announced as the winner in the best video category of the year, she said, “This is amazing. I remember being 17 years old, up for my first MTV award with Destiny’s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments of my life, so I would like for Taylor to come out and have her moment”.
Taylor sportingly took the stage and said, with a gracious smile, “Maybe we can try this again,” said, thanking “all of my fans on Twitter and MySpace and everyone who came out to my shows this summer.”
