Travis Barker

Travis Barker, the punk musician has filed lawsuit and is litigating companies linked to a plane that crashed in South Carolina, resulting in killing two of his friends and injuring him. Barker, who is the former drummer of Blink-182 has claimed more than US$25,000 in damages and have also taken legal actions against the plane’s owners, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., and an airplane maintenance company.

The lawsuit produced by the Barker’s lawyers claims the aircraft companies improperly operated and maintained the Learjet that blasted a runway and burst into flames on September 19 in South Carolina. Besides,  Chris Baker,  Barker’s assistant and Charles Monroe Still Jr., Barker’s bodyguard, the crush also killed the two pilots of the aircraft.

The suit filed by Barker claims damages for disfigurement, pain and suffering, loss of earnings, and medical and legal expenses. Thelma Martin Still, the mother of late Charles Monroe Still Jr. also joined  Barker and claimed for grief and sorrow, funeral expenses and loss of earnings.

Barker and celebrity disc jockey DJ AM were returning to Los Angeles after performing at a show that night. Both of them were badly injured in the crash.

It has been reported by the aviation authorities that the cockpit recordings indicated the jet’s crew thought a tyre had blown during takeoff. NTSB officials have said pieces of tyre were retrieved about 2,800 feet from where the plane took off down the 8,600-foot runway.

Jesse Metcalfe

Jesse Metcalfe, the former star of  Desperate Housewives, was rushed to the hospital after he fell down from a second-storey balcony in Monaco. Metcalfe rose to fame after playing Eva Longoria’s love interest in Desperate Housewives.

When asked about how the accident took place his representative said that  Metcalfe was in Monaco to host the World Music Awards. He was sitting on the balcony ledge from where he toppled down after leaning backward. He feel down 40 feet to the ground.

The actor was immediately admitted to the hospital for a brain scan and X-ray. His rep told to the Usmagazine.com that the star is “doing fine”now.  “He accidentally slipped off a balcony and was knocked unconscious”, added the representative, “but he is fine and now recovering from some minor bruises in a London hospital”.

Jayden James, two year old son of Britney Spears, was rushed to the  hospital due to a severe allergic reaction to something he ate.  James was on a holiday trip with Britney to their  family home in Kentwood, Louisiana. The singer raced her son to a Mississippi hospital’s emergency ward after he passed “into a vague and unresponsive state”.

The child suffered a “terrible allergic reaction. He had hives, was itchy and irritable”, a close source mentioned to the People.com. It has also been reported by Britain’s MailOnline that, “One minute Britney and her sons were relaxing and enjoying their first visit to Kentwood in months, and the next minute Jayden had fallen ill. He was vague and unresponsive so Britney dialled an ambulance. But she was told it would take half an hour to arrive, and she was best trying to get Jayden to the hospital herself”.

Jayden was admitted to the hospital on Sunday at  1:30pm. Britney stayed awake throughout the night and remained at his bedside. Doctors have reported today that Jayden “is doing fine”, and is expected to be discharged from hospital today. “Jayden James Federline was admitted to the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Centre on Sunday, November 9th. Doctors concluded he had a reaction to something he ingested. He is expected to be discharged tomorrow”, hospital authorities have reported.

R&B superstar Rihanna fell ill while performing in a show in Sydney, Australia on Thursday. The Barbadian

Grammy Award sparked fears for her health when paramedics were rushed in. She complained of feeling ill while her performance was on.

The Bajan beauty was performing at Sydney’s Acer Arena when suddenly she was reportedly seen in severe physical pain after being lowered down to the stage by a harness.

The star’s beau Chris Brown had joined her on-stage for a rousing rendition of their remix to her smash hit Umbrella - a track named Cinderella. All this turned nasty when she fled the stage seeking medical attention.

Fans became frantic as Brown was forced to finish the show’s finale alone.

Spokesperson Amanda Silverman as usual denied all such rumors of the star fainting behind the scenes. She insisted, Rihanna a was just hot and needed to rehydrate.

She tells WENN, “It was very hot at the venue, so after Rihanna’s set was over, she went off stage and needed to sit down, catch her breath and have some water.”

Silverman was adamant that her star will be in perfect condition any time soon and will continue with her Australian tour dates.

Conway Wickliffe, New Zealand special effects specialist, died while shooting scenes for “ The Dark Knight”, the  latest Batman movie, reported by an English inquest. Guardian newspaper reported that Mr. Wickliffe was filming in a stunt car that was traveling parallel to another car when the Nissan hit a tree at only 32kmh. The Te Kuiti, a 41-year-old stunt man, was inclining out from the window of a 4WD. He was facing backwards while filming a test run for blowing up the Batmobile, when he was badly injured after the vehicle hit a tree in September last year.

He suffered dangerous wounds and fractures from the impact, and was declared dead at the scene near Chertsey, in Surrey.The case was taken up at the Woking Coroner’s Court, where a panel of jury watched the video footage of the stunt shot by Mr Wickliffe a few seconds before he was killed. The driver of  Nissan,  Bruce Monroe-Armstrong, anticipated that the stunt man might have gone a bit wide towards the bend. “We clipped the bank and the tree brushed the wing mirror. Then we came to a stop and I got out of the car. I saw Conway and shouted for a medic”, he added in his statement.

Although the driver of the vehicle claims to have maintained a control over the speed and angle, his fellow crew, Ian Mitchell said that he saw the  4WD carrying on into the grass even after reaching the end of the run. “Instead of turning on to the service road it carried on and I saw it impact the tree. It appeared to be a glancing blow. He ran over and found Mr Wickliffe in a bad way”, he added.

Mr Wickliffe, grew up in Paeroa, NZ, was buried in his own country, New Zealand. Derryn (Dee) Chase, his wife,  brought their daughter Eden, 4, and son Sabian, 12, back to New Zealand for his funeral.  Wickliffe was known for loving his job. He took part in several extreme sports, his favorite ones being snowboarding and parachute jumping. Batman Begins, Children of Men and the James Bond films Casino Royale and Die Another Day are a few hit films that he has worked in.

The closing credits of “The Dark Knight” commemorated his contribution to the film industry and his career : “In memory of our friends Heath Ledger and Conway Wickliffe”.

Keanu Reeves

A jury has said that actor Keanu Reeves doesn’t rest on anything to a paparazzo who litigated him, claiming that Reeves was responsible for the paparazzi photographer’s alleged injuries. Alison Silva, the photographer, sued the actor who acted in films such as The Matrix, Speed and Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, for an incident in March 2007. Reeves was accused of striking  Silva with his Porsche, causing him to fall and injure his left wrist.

Silva had claimed an alimony of a sum of US$711,974 from Reeves to the jury. This money includes medical bills, lost wages and punitive damages. While  Silva was interrogated by the jury for the past 5 days, time and again he had given contradictory statements about what exactly happened on the day of the accident. He even presented a video of Keanu Reeves, which he claims to have shot with his injured hand.

The closing arguments were issues by the attorneys for both the sides on Friday.  They considered about five minutes and left for the weekend. The juries again resumed their work on Monday morning. The panel of jury were an eminent Hollywood bunch, one claiming to be an animator for The Simpsons, while the other works as a coordinator of movie filming in public parks.

Reeves was seen in the  courtroom throughout the legal proceeding. He would be seen starring in his upcoming remake of  “ The Day the Earth Stood Still”.

Two surfers have appealed for not being guilty to violation of battery charges. They have been charged for intentionally pushing a photographer into the water as he tried to take pictures of Matthew McConaughey on the waves.

The surf boarders, namely Skylar Peak and Philip Hildebrand, are charged of ending up in many showdowns with several paparazzi who showed up on June 21 on a Malibu beach to shoot photographs and film the Fool’s Gold and Failure to Launch star.

One of the photographers, Richid Altmbareckouhammou, reported to the authorities that he was attacked by the surfers who also threw his camera in the ocean. He was then forced to put his camera away. The  pretrial hearing will be held on January 1.

Jessica Simpson in the inset and Ken Paves

Jessica Simpson had a bad day with Paparazzi. She was pushed and swarmed by photographers. She was out on a dinner with her best friend hairstylist Ken Paves, when the attacking photographers jostled and crowded Jessica and Paves. The incident took a rough turn when Paves came for her rescue. He was injured after a camera hit him.

A paparazzi photographer hit his face from nowhere. Blood was seen on his face. He was injured by photographers outside L.A. hotspot Madeo. Though onlookers claim that the injury was just an accident but a beautiful Saturday night out with her friend turned ugly for singer/actor Simpson. Paves was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center according to a source. Blood was running down his face. No police charges have been pressed so far.

“Everyone was pushing each other to get a picture of Jessica,” a source tells.

Police investigators remove a body from the house of Jennifer Hudson

Recent documents have proved that a suspect in the Chicago murders of three members of Jennifer Hudson’s family was arrested for drug possession in June this year. But this was not announced by the  state officials earlier.

Parole records were received by The Associated Press, which also indicate that William Balfour missed a meeting with his parole agent last Friday. That’s when the mother and brother of the Oscar winner Hudson were murdered and her 7-year-old nephew went missing.

Balfour is the disaffected husband of Hudson’s sister. He is being held on a different parole violation and police have named him a person of interest. No one has been charged with the killings.

Hudson’s nephew was found dead on Monday. Authorities declared the death of the child as a homicide on Tuesday.

Feeder

Feeder members narrowly escaped death when their tour bus turned,crashed and exploded. It was a narrow escape on a a British motorway on Friday. The British Rock band came to fame after their third album, Echo Park (2001). Its first single “Buck Rogers” earned huge media attention for the first time after the band came into the limelight. The band was travelling for their scheduled show in Lincoln in east England.

They had earlier performed in Glasgow, Scotland. The accident happened on their way for the show. The band members are unhurt.Their coach crashed on the M62 motorway and blew apart. The crew are also reported unhurt.

The horrific accident is not to be regarded as a blemish for the current U.K. tour concerning the band. A spokesman for the Welsh Rockers said, “Everybody is safe. But all the merchandising and catering is destroyed. All the crew were left in their pants - (sports store) JD Sports kindly dressed them all today.”
