After Britney Spears, now it’s Pink with a circus themed show. And the pop singer regrets staging the show for her ongoing world tour “Funhouse.” She is being constantly compared to Britney, who launched her “Circus” tour in US early this March.

Pop singer Pink is taking her world tour to the United States this summer. But, she has come under the eye of critics who are accusing her of copying Britney’s “Circus” tour. Both Britney and Pink’s tours are based on the title of their latest albums. Both the singers have dancers in colorful costumes, acrobats, and wild acts in their stage shows.

Pink, however, denies copying Britney. Her album released last year just weeks before Britney’s album release, and she is emphatic that she was oblivious to the trend. “Had I known that certain other people were going to base their latest thing about circus things, I probably would have went into another direction. I was six months before that and didn’t really understand that it was a trend that was happening. I’m pretty out of the loop,” said Pink.

So there is another ‘circus’ coming your way!

Kylie Minogue

The global economic recession has not spared the rich. Yet, they are rich. Pop queen Kylie Minogue, has landed a place in the UK rich list despite having lost money in the economic crisis.

According to the list compiled by The Sunday Times, the 40-year-old singer has made it to the 46th spot among the Top wealthiest music with her personal fortune of over $70 million. Minogue’s wealth, however, has come down from last year when her fortune was estimated to be worth $83.5 million. That puts her in league with Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams and Mick Jagger whose earnings dropped by 10% last year due to the global meltdown.

The UK rich list shows that Minogue was worth $71.25 million which equals that of Ronnie Wood, Mick Hucknell and Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay. South African-born record executive 62-yer-old Clive Calder tops the UK rich list with a personal fortune of $2.6 billion. Economic crisis or not, Kylie can now celebrate because she remains one of world’s richest female singers.

'The Hills' girls

“The Hills” is to continue without original star Lauren Conrad. MTV has decided to extend its hit series by adding extra episodes, even if it is without the 23-year-old designer building a new story line around newlyweds (and Conrad antagonists) Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag. That said, it has been confirmed that Audrina Patridge and the rest of “The Hills” cast will be back this fall with additional episodes of its current season.

“MTV viewers will find out life in Los Angeles only gets more complicated as friendships, relationships and loyalties are tested like never before as ‘The Hills’ returns this fall with more episodes of Season 5,” MTV said. Though the network has not yet given a green signal to another season of “The Hills,” it has announced that the new episodes will have fresh faces along with the series’ regulars Audrina Patridge,  Heidi Montag,  Spencer Pratt,  Stephanie Pratt,  Lo Bosworth, Justin Bobby and Brody Jenne.

In their statement, MTV said “Spencer and Heidi will be newlyweds, so the stakes are higher than ever before for the two to make things work. Viewers will find out life in Los Angeles only gets more complicated as friendships, relationships and loyalties are tested like never before.”

The absence of Conrad in “The Hills” return this fall will definitely be felt, but the rest of the cast are not too worried about the success of the show without her. The question is how much of its fame will “The Hills” after losing its original actress.

Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge

Jamie Lynn Spears‘ boyfriend, who was injured in a car crash Sunday, is facing trouble with the police. He has been charged with careless operation of a motor vehicle, which is a misdemeanour offence.

Casey Aldridge, father of Jamie Lynn’s 10-month-old daughter, was driving with four friends through rural Tensas Parish, La., Sunday when he lost control of his Ford pickup. Aldridge’s uncle, Rev. Odus Jackson said “I think he cut off the edge of the road, corrected and it flipped.” Authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs to be the reason behind the accident. Nevertheless, Aldridge has been charged on the basis of careless driving. He wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

Despite his other three friends not wearing seatbelts, Aldridge was the only occupant in the truck who needed immediate medical attention. He suffered a fractured skull, and was rushed to Riverland Medical Center. Later, he was shifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.The 19-year-old has been moved out of the ICU, and “is doing good.” Meanwhile, Jamie Lynn Spears, 18, has been by the side of her baby’s father all through.

Twilight’s sexy vampire Robert Pattinson is to face serious competition. His competitor: “Figting” man with killer physique Channing Tatum. Yes. The former model, who had worked for clients such as Armani and Abercrombie & Fitch, is being seriously considered by “Twilight” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg who says that she “desperately” wants Tatum for the part of vampire “Rile” in the third Twilight movie “Eclipse.”

Pattinson, with his iconic good looks, has become one of Hollywood’s hottest rising stars after he landed the role of vampire Edward Cullen in the mega hit “Twilight.” He has become a heartthrob of millions worldwide, and being the competitor of this young Brit will not be easy. However, like Rob, 29-year old Tatum too has his career rocketing with the lead role in “Fighting,” “Dear John,” and this summer’s big-budget movie “G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra.” Besides, he plays Pretty Boy Floyd in Johnny Depp’s 1930s gangster drama “Public Enemies.”

Tatum’s acting experiences till date make him a good fit for the role of the nasty vampire in “Eclipse.” Rosenberg said “There’s a very big battle at the end with Riley, and I think Channing would do that so well,”  adding “And there are some complexities to that character. He really is tragic. He’s a puppet for Victoria. So he has to break your heart a little bit at the end when he realizes that she doesn’t want him. Channing could do that beautifully.”

If Tatum accepts the role of Rile, he will be joining Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene, Michael Sheen, Peter Facinelli, and Dakota Fanning who make up the core cast of the Twilight saga.

Though possible on screen rivals, Tatum and Rob share a few common traits. They are both quiet, introspective and unassuming. And both are basking in stardom. But “Eclipse” may pit these two against each other in a screen fight both dramatic and dangerous.

Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva

It has been a little more than two weeks when Mel Gibson’s wife filed for a divorce. Then, there were talks about the actor and his new girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. Tuesday night, the 53-year-old Hollywood actor made a rare public appearance with Oksana at the L.A. industry screening for ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine.’

Mel Gibson was wearing a black suit with a dark gray shirt. He and his 39-year-old singer girlfriend stepped out hand in hand as they walked the carpet before taking seat inside the screening at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. According to a source, the couple went in quietly and kept a low-key.

“Mel has been single for almost three years and it’s nice to see him getting out and enjoying himself,” said Gibson’s representative. The actor attended the screening on invitation of Fox Chairman James Gianopoulos and Wolverine producers Richard and Lauren Donner and fellow Aussie Hugh Jackman.

Shortly after midnight, Saturday April 25, Robin Thicke reached his official After Party thrown by Shon-Gale Events and Publicity, LLC, Wind Tunnel Entertainment, Intertwine Chicago, and Patrick Entertainment. The event followed Robin Thicke’s concert with Jennifer Hudson at Arie Crown, which turned out a huge success.

On reaching the party, Robin was smiling, and stopping at intervals to take photos with guests. He took photos with Robin Robinson of Fox News, Shon Peebles and Gale Farley of Shon-Gale Events and Publicity, Ron Blanchard of Wind Tunnel Entertainment, and Tamara Allen of Intertwine Chicago in front of sponsor, First Choice Media, banner. Before heading to his table, Robin also shook hands with those in VIP including Chicago Defender staff (sponsor), Shirey Cadillac rep (sponsor), Jennifer Day of First Choice Media (sponsor), and Stacy of Stacy Bowie Designs. Fans too got a chance to pose with their brown-eyed heart throb.

Robin was escorted to his place in VIP and treated to a gourmet. He listened to Universal artist Melanie Fiona, and then performed himself. The crowd went wild, and the singer reached down to hug a few
fans. Robin was enjoying his party as much as his fans and grooved with them to the music beats. The party for Robin continued for three hours after which he left as graciously as he has entered. While leaving too, he shook hands and took photos with fans. Wow! what a night for Robin Thicke fans!

Daniel Radcliffe, who has given life to J.K Rowling’s wizard Harry Potter, has more to his credit than the Potter fame. The actor has gone beyond big screen to express his impressive acting skills on the stage. And he has shown his magic once again. He has been nominated for the Drama Desk Awards in New York Monday.

Radcliffe has been shortlisted for outstanding actor in a play for his intense and bold performance as Alan Strang in the play “Equus.” Others actors nominated in this category include Bill Irwin for “Waiting for Godot,”Simon Russell Beale for “The Winter’s Tale,” Reed Birney for “Blasted,” Raul Esparza for “Speed-The-Plow,” Geoffrey Rush for “Exit the King” and Thomas Sadoski for “Reasons to be Pretty.”

In the list for outstanding actor in a musical are James Barbour from “A Tale of Two Cities,” Daniel Breaker and Brian d’Arcy James from “Shrek The Musical,” Josh Grisetti from “Enter Laughing The Musical,” Sahr Ngaujah from “Fela!” and Will Swenson from “Hair.”

Shortlisted for outstanding actress in a musical are Stockard Channing for “Pal Joey,” Janney, Megan Hilty and Stephanie J. Block for “9 to 5,” Sutton Foster for “Shrek the Musical” and Karen Murphy for “My Vaudeville Man!”

The Harry Potter wizard made his Broadway debut in the revival Broadway production of Peter Shaffer play “Equus” in September 2008. Daniel Radcliffe in “Equus” has proved his acting talent which has placed him alongside popular stage actors. “Equus” also received two other nominations: David Hersey, for Outstanding Lighting Design in a Play, and Gregory Clarke, for Outstanding Sound Design.

The Drama Desk is an organization made up of professional theater critics, and it gives awards to Broadway production and off-Broadway productions competing in the same categories. Awards ceremony will be held on May 17 at F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center.

This weekend’s box-office winner was “Obsessed” which has already grossed an unexpected $28.5 million. In the thriller, Beyoncé Knowles is engaged in some rough fist-bashing and hair-pulling action against co-star Ali Larter, who plays the woman trying to steal Beyoncé’s man.

The two ladies made full use of their chance to do some catfighting, and fought enthusiastically during the film’s climatic final fight. “We went for it like, ‘You clock, I clock,’ ” Larter said. “A little head-butting, some kicks in there — we went for it. We got bruised up. We spent a week shooting it.“

Beyoncé said “I had so much fun, because I’m a lover — I’m not a fighter…But I got to fight!” Larter praised Beyoncé, whose neck she tries to wring in the film, “[Beyoncé's] amazing. She did it in four-innch heels.”

In “Obsessed,” Larter plays Lisa whose violent attachment to her co-worker Derek leads her to snatch him away from his wife Sharon (played by Beyoncé). Larter’s role is challenging as Lisa is a woman on the edge without going too far. “You never want to play crazy,” says Larter. “You have to play from a place of love.

“You have to believe that what she’s doing in her head is completely rational,” Larter continued. “Even though it may seem crazy to the outside world, to her she’s falling in love with this man and he’s giving her signals. She really sees them and believes that they’re meant to be together. Her behavior asks the question, ‘How far will you go for love?’ “

Beyoncé Knowles, and Ali Larter in “Obsessed” are a sight to watch and enjoy. Their fight seems real as the bring life to the action sequence between the two female leads.

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani

There was something awkward about Monday night ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ It did not feature Melissa Rycroft, who was forced to sit out this week due to her injury. Her absence was felt strongly, particularly after she had topped last week with a sexy Argentine tango.

Rycroft had to stay away from the ‘Dancing’ stage due to a hairline fracture on her rib which she suffered last week. The injury became worse with rigorous dance practice. As a result, she could not perform the jive with partner Tony Dovolani on the show last night. But, there is nothing to fear, as the reality tv star will be able to continue with the competition.

Judges scored Rycroft and Dovolani on their rehearsal footage of the jive taped earlier Monday. As the rehearsal was not up to the mark, the dancing pair was given only 21 points. The low score dropped them to the last place for the night. That was an unexpected setback for Rycroft.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ host Tom Bergeron says that Rycroft is talking with doctors, who have told her that the injury is a hairline fracture of one of her ribs. Melissa Rycroft is the second contestant of this season’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’ who has been scored on a rehjearsal footage. Steve-O also had to sit out a performance earlier in the season because of
a back injury, and the judges had scored him on his rehearsal dance.
