Twitter Flooded with Sharp Comments in Regard to President Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize Win

Barack Obama, the President of United States of America has been declared as the winner of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize. Mr. Obama will be award the prestigious prize for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples” by the Norwegian Nobel Committee in Oslo.
Followed by the breaking news sharp reactions flowed in from people all over the globe using social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. Some supported the decision of the Nobel Prize committee, but most opposed and raised questions on the issue. There were comments, from people using the social networking sites, that said there were more deserving people than the President who joined office about 9 months back. Some even said that it was an early award for the President and that the prize will keep reminding him of his duty towards his nation as well as the world. Some even showed a little fear and warned the President of Kayne West, who, they feel, might land up at the ceremony just to declare that Beyonce deserved it more.
The Committee had its own explanation and said the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the President for hisĀ vision of and work for “a world without nuclear weapons”. The Nobel committee also added that Mr. Obama’s leadership “dialogue and negotiations” can bring a change to the the world and can be used as resolving tool during “the most difficult international conflicts”.
A sum of $1.5 million will be handed over to President Obama as a Prize money on December 10.
Whether people like it or not I think it’s good that President Obama won the Noble peace prize. At least the microblogging sites come alive with millions of creative and witty comments.
