The new anti-fur, anti-leather advertisement of Pamela Anderson, which has been shot for an animal rights group has been banned recently and tagged as “too racy”. The ad shows Anderson in scantily clad dress posing like a aircraft security guard. The commercial was conceived by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and was mainly shot to be shown at the three airports of New York city. The airport authority chiefs although called the ad to be “too sexy” and banned its screening at the airport.
The airport authority was concerned about the reaction of the passengers and feared the ad might as well offend some of the passengers traveling with young children. The commercial was put on hold, which was supposed to debut on Thursday. A representative for CNN Airport Network have written a letter to PETA stating the reason behind the ban of the ad as, “particularly sensitive because children make up part of the demographic in airports”.
PETA has although waved off the opposition and have decided to show the ad on in-flight entertainment. Dan Mathews, the Senior Vice President of PETA, has said, “We’re now looking to place the spot among in-flight entertainment and hope that more adventurous carriers such as Virgin take us up on it”.
The airport bosses feel there will be mixed reaction from on board passengers. The young men would undoubtedly love to see Pammy in skimpy clad clothes, but for the rest, it could just be too blue.
