Brad Pitt reaches the San Sebastian Film Festival in a new bearded look. Quite expectantly the Hollywood heartthrob was greeted with a warm welcome by a huge crowd. Fans from all part of the city gathered up outside his hotel on Friday afternoon to catch a glimpse of the actor. Thanks to the Oscar nominated actor, he could really bring out the crowds at the kick off of the 57th International Film Festival in San Sebastian.

Along with Quentin Tarantino, the director of his latest hit ‘Inglorious Basterds’, Brad Pitt is in the city to promote his film. The actor along with his director reached Hotel María Cristina at 2pm on Friday afternoon. There were about 500 fans, needless to say mostly women, who crowded in front of the hotel to welcome the actor. Pit was found signing autographs and waving to his fans.

The San Sebastian Film Festival that began today will run till 26th of this month. 18 films have been selected that would be shown during this period. A Spanish film, ‘El Baile de la Victoria’, directed by Fernando Trueba, will be screened today. The film might represent Spain in the Best Foreign Language Film category in the forthcoming Oscar.

Three other foreign films: Isaki Lacuesta, a film on the war guerrillas, ‘Los Condenados’, Javier Rebollo with ‘La Mujer Sin Piano’, and Álvaro Pastor and Antonio Naharro with a story about a youngster with Down’s syndrome, ‘Yo también’, will also be screened here and will also compete for the Concha de Oro.

There are films from France, Argentina, Colombia, Iran, Germany and South Korea that would be screened during the festival. A posthumous work of Heath Ledger will also be shown. The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, by Terry Gilliam stars the late actor in an intriguing role. The late actors latest works from directors such as Jim Jarmusch, Woody Allen, Michael Heneke and Ang Lee will also be screened.
