Quentin Tarantino´s World War II film ¨Inglorious Basterds¨ is one of the major titles contending at the Cannes Film Festival for the top prize. In 1994, Tarantino had won the coveted Palme d´Or at Cannes for his second film ¨Pulp Fiction.¨ Now again, the director is competing for the award.
Competing this year at Cannes for Palme d´Or are twenty films including Ken Loach’s ¨Looking for Eric¨, starring French footballer Eric Cantona, and the latest films from Ang Lee, ¨Pedro Almodovar¨ and ¨Jane Campion.¨ Tarantino, 46, is the only American director contending for the prize, which was won last year by French drama ¨The Class.¨
This year, Cannes Film Festival will be running from May 13 to May 24. ¨Inglorious Basterd¨, Quentin Tarantino´s latest work starring Brad Pitt, is a war drama about a group of Jewish-American soldiers sent to Germany to kill Nazis.
