¨The Dukes of Hazzard¨ star Jessica Simpson wants to pair up with pop diva Britney Spears for a new buddy comedy show, like the popular series ¨Laverne & Shirley.¨ She has approached Britney with the idea and is trying to persuade her for it.

Comedy roles is not new to either of the singers. Both of them have played comedy roles before. Jessica was a part of the cast in the films films ¨Major Movie Star¨, ¨Blonde Ambition¨, and ¨Employee of the Month.¨ Britney was well-appreciated by TV critics for her on-screen performance as a ditzy secretary in ¨How I Met Your Mother¨ last year.

It has been heard from a source that ”Britney seems genuinely interested in working with her. She’s said they’ll talk further when she finishes her ¨Circus¨ tour. And Jessica wants to prove to the world that she’s a talented, funny actress, not just some silly airhead.“
