Jay Leno was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles after he met with a sudden illness on Thursday night. Hospital authorities haven’t yet disclosed anything about Leno’s illness. The sudden health disorder has forced the comedian to cancel the shoot of “The Tonight Show”, which he has been hosting for the past 17 year. This is the first instance his 17 years tenure that Leno had missed the show.
Jay Leno checked into a Los Angeles hospital on Thursday with an undisclosed illness, forcing the comedian to cancel a taping of “The Tonight Show” for the first time in his 17-year tenure. The representatives of Leno refused put any light on what the comedian was treated for at the city hospital.
Leno’s representatives did not say what he was treated for at the hospital, but he is expected to return to work on Monday. In a statement NBC added, “Jay Leno is doing just fine. He was kidding around with the hospital staff and running his monologue jokes by the doctors and nurses“. The hospital where Leno is admitted is not disclosed as well.
The 58 year old comedian had never missed a schedule on “The Tonight Show” since he started working with the production team as a host of this very popular television show in 1992. Until Leno recovers and is fit enough to join the show again Conan O’Brien will take over the coveted “Tonight Show” slot on June 1.
