Details about “family matters” weren’t revealed, but it can be guessed that David Cook’s brother Adam can be the reason behind the Idol’s temporary absence from the tour. Adam has been battling brain cancer, which has reached an advanced level in his body. Sources have said that cook had spent time with his brother last week. The singer’s fans supported him in response to the website announcement of his absence and have written that he should take as much time as he requires. David Cook’s tour dates have been rescheduled, and he is to resume the tour today (Thursday, April 2).

Cook started his ‘The Declaration Tour’ in February to popularize his self-titled debut album. The album, released in November 2008, has sold over a million copies till now, earning a platinum status. Recently, he has added a new single to the album. The first single “Come Back to Me“, with lyrics from Norwegian songwriter Episonage, was truely memorable. The second one is sure to be a hit. The album’s music production team includes Amund Bjørklund and Espen Lind, as well as Zac Maloy. It has been produced by Grammy winner Rob Cavallo who has also been producer to Dave Matthews Band, Kid Rock, Avril Lavigne, and other famous music artists.

David Cook returned to the ‘Idol’ stage Tuesday night. However, he didn’t have to fear elimination, because he was the honored music guest. Cook sang his second single from his debut album.

“Come Back To Me” is not the first single but the second (third if you count the coronation song Time Of My Life) one that’s just being released. Cook’s pre-taped performance was aired on Wednesday, not on Tuesday.
