The 23 year old musician from Scotland, Scott MacIntyre is selected as one of the top 12 finalists on American Idol. The blind singer in his last performance sang Bruce Hornsby’s “Mandolin Rain”.

MacIntyre, suffers from Leber’s inborn amaurosis, which means he is nearly blind. His field of vision is about 2 degrees.

Randy Jackson, one of the judges of American Idol said that although his vocal wasn’t perfect but he will definitely add a spark to the stage. “I know he’s gonna blow up the stage every time”, he added.

The young Scolandale,  MacIntyre, besides being a singer is an extra-ordinary pianist too. The tunes that flow from his finger tells the story of his raging passion for music. For this blind musician music is everything that helps him override every obstacle. By the age of 19,  MacIntyre has already performed all over Canada and United States. He sings and composes his own music.
