Russell Brand, who has made his mark as a comedian in England before he mounted up the ravel and landed roles in films. Brand rose to fame in America as the aloof rock star Aldous Snow in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and as the host of the 2008 MTV Music Awards.
Brand offered his fans with a glimpse of his new image. His first appearance as a stand-up comedian in the one hour show, Russell Brand In New York City, was premiered on Comedy Central at 10 pm, Sunday.
The comedian will rule 2009 with his presence in almost every place. My Booky Wook, which is an autobiography of Brand will hit stores in the coming week. He is also working in a new Judd Apatow produced vehicle for the Aldous Snow character, Get Him To the Greek. Co-starring withHelen Mirren as “Prospera”, Brand will be featured in The Tempest, a film directed by Julie Taymor. The film is awaiting its release.

Jonathan Ross, the suspended host of BBC chat show, has been nominated for a British Comedy Award. A host will soon be replaced for the live ITV broadcast. It is yet to be announced after Ross chickened out in the wake of the contention over obscene calls he made with comedian Russell Brand to “Fawlty Towers” actor Andrew Sachs.
Jonathan Ross Resigns Over Brand Phone Prank Issue
Russell Brand, who is the head of Britain’s most listened to radio station, has resigned today over an issue of a prank phone call made by him to actor the Andrew Sachs during his show, reported by the BBC news. Followed by a call from the dashing comedian Russell Brand, Lesley Douglas, Radio 2 controller, has reportedly stepped down from her post.
