Prince to Release Latest Album at Target

Prince has tied up with the retail chain Target to launch his latest collection of songs. He hasn’t labeled or named the album anything, instead, the singer has come up with a three disc set featuring his latest collection of songs. The album will be available at every Target stores across the country from March 29th.
The album will feature two original studio albums called “Lotus Flower” and “MPL Sound”. the third disc is title as “Elixer” by his latest protege, the singer Bria Valente. This 3 Disc set by Prince will be sold for $11.98 at Target.
Prince has set a new trend of a recording artist partnering with a major retailer to release an album. Many have already started saying that this trend will become popular in the coming days and will be picked up by more and more artists.
Earlier Anglo-Australian rock band AC/DC have also released their album “Black Ice” in October exclusively through Wal-Mart stores. The album rose to top the chart in bill boards. The rock icon Bruce Springsteen also gave the retailer an exclusive right to launch a collection of his greatest hits in January.
Prince, who have produced hits like “Purple Rain” and “When Doves Cry,” was placed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and he has won six Grammy Awards.
