From rapper to rocker, the star studded journey is going pretty much eventful for Lil Wayne “Prom Queen”, Wayne’s first rock single is already a hit and is still picking up momentum. A royal rock treatment now awaits the Cash Money star in his very own VH1 “Behind the Music” episode.
VH1 “Behind the Music”, which is a originally a documentary program will be relaunched. Lil Wayne and Scott Weiland have already been signed for the show. Although the program will begin again, yet the focus of the show will now shift to contemporary artists than the veteran talent. The previous 200 episodes of “Behind the Music” has mostly covered all the iconic talents.
A large number of musical superstars have appeared in the show since 2004 said Rick Krim, executive vice president of talent and music programming at VH1. “We had to rethink a little bit and look at these current artists that are really big stars now, and maybe it isn’t the classic rise and fall”, he added.
Instead of looking back to the yesteryears, the main focus of the show will be to get some artists who are at the top of the billboard now. The research team’s first choice is definitely Lil Wayne. There is a long story to tell about him. The essential drama of his life – like accidentally shooting himself with a gun when he was 12 that nearly killed him, surviving through Katrina, and a pending jail – will definitely boost the show.
