Kanye West, have been charged by city prosecutors with infringement battery, grand theft and hooliganism for destruction of the videotape of a paparazzi’s camera. Kanye arrested and taken into police custody at Los Angeles International Airport. Last September, Kanye performed at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Kanye was shot by a TMZ reporter while he broke the flash of a photographer’s camera inside a terminal. The rappers manager broke the camera while abusing the video-grapher. Kanye will be have to face two years imprisonment if he is proved guilty.
Blair Berk, Kanye’s lawyer, refused to give any statement about the charges filed until the case closes. 6 misdemeanor charges are also held up against Dan Crawley,the singer’s road manager. The accusations are two counts apiece of battery, vandalism and grand theft. He will face upto 5 years of imprisonment if convicted.
Kanye is like various other celebrities who have ended up in run-ins with persuasive paparazzi. In few other similar cases paparazzis are suing soccer star David Beckham and actor Woody Harrelson. Kanye has earlier ended up in brash conversation publicly but the 11th September incident was the first of its kind.
