Penelope Cruz has come out with a new revelation. Cruz said she is very scared of singing. The Spanish beauty is said to have had a real tough time using her amateur vocal chords for her new film, ‘Nine’. The film is a musical and Cruz said that the experience was very scary for her.

She said: “It was very interesting, very intense, a very different experience. It’s the first time I’ve had to sing in a movie…”It was one of the most daunting things I’ve ever had to do, but it was so much fun at the same time. I loved it.”

However the story does not end here. Penelope also had another scare of her life. Cruz was left blistered and bruised after performing a sexy dance routine on a rope for ‘Nine’. The 34 year old star insists that she had different levels of enjoyment in experiencing new things in her career. While shooting for ‘Nine’, which also stars Daniel Day-Lewis and Nicole Kidman, Penelope was left to treat herself a lot in order to get back in shape. The film reportedly seems to have taken a toll on the star.

Penelope said: “When something like that happens, you just have to keep going and forget about any physical pain. I was dancing in the dark with one spotlight on me, so I had to be extremely alert and focused…” However she explained that the pain was actually a new found joy for her : “…There were other things to think about, so I was not in pain while dancing – I was just praying not to fall!”
