Javier Bardem is one of the most promising actors of the recent times in the global film world. The actor has been making movies that are close to his heart. He has never thought of big houses or brands that make films. Javier started off his career with the Spanish director Bigas Luna. In 2007 Javier pulled it off with the Historical Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film ‘No Country for Old Men.’
Javier Bardem who recently got himself hurt while shooting for Alejandro Iñarritu’s new film, ‘Biutiful’. The shooting was stalled after Javier hurt his back.
Bardem being a Spaniard belted roles like the very recent ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ directed by Woody Allen. With the new film, rumours of Bardem dating Penelope Cruz started which are believed to be true.
Bardem started off with English language films like Julian Schnabel’s ‘Before Night Falls’ in 2000, as Cuban poet Reinaldo Arenas. This film stunningly nominated Bardem for the Academy Award for Best Actor. A great achievement for Bardem since this was a crescendo never reached by any Spaniard. The Academy Award nomination opened doors for Bardem. In 2002 he starred in John Malkovich’s directorial debut, The Dancer Upstairs.
Bardem has turned many heads for his outright beliefs and public statements. He claims that he is a “worker” and not an actor.
