Christian Bale was caught, blasting out, on tape, at a film crew, of his film, ‘Terminator Salvation’. The audio clip of the actor revealed Bale delivering swears and full blown abuses at DOP, (Director of Photography)Shane Hurlbut. Bale is heard ranting out Director McG’s Assistant, Hurlbut. The audio has been leaked on the internet.
All hell broke loose when Bale was taking a shot when Hurlburt was seen romping the set thus making Bale go ballistic. Bale reportedly used several F-words directed at Hurlburt and even at McG, the Director of ‘Terminator Salvation’. Hurlburt went on apologising and tried to make Bale understand that he was only trying to se the light placement and he had no intention of destroying the shot or Bale’s concentration.
However Christian Bale’s ‘Terminator Salvation’ co-star Terry Crews has come to the actor’s defence after the inter leak. The Dark Knight star could be heard angrily reprimanding an assistant director for walking onto the set while Bale was shooting a scene.
Christian Bale sounded so furious and heated up that he demanded the crew member be fired. Bale continuously hurled abuses and profanity at the careless assistant. He went further in attacking McG and demanding to walk away from the film if the same crew was seen in the sets the next day ! Hurlburt came to the rescue and appeasement. He coaxed Bale to relax. McG did the same thing and , matters cooled to some extent.
Bale’s co-star crews however insisted that the matter was being blown too much out of proportion and had a damning effect overall. The crews supported Bale saying that too much is being made of the actor’s outburst and the thing said and done should be left aside by the media.
A co-star revealed : “Anyone can have a bad day… I’d get mad too if I was the number one star in the world and people started to mess with me. He is a class act! He is one of the greatest actors ever. I’m vouching for him. I know he’s a nice guy. I know he’s all about his work.”
Bale’s controversial tape has been reportedly sent to the insurance company supporting ‘Terminator Salvation’. The reason being the unsurity surrounding Bale, just in case the actor decided not to complete the film following the incident.
Whoopi Goldberg has also defended Christian Bale’s curse-laden movie set rant insisting she has snapped in similar circumstances. Whoopi said that these things are part and parcel of film shootings. Oscar winner Goldberg insisted that the critics leave alone Bale. She felt that all should give Bale a break, admitting she has reacted similarly under pressure.
Speaking on U.S. talk show The View, which she co-hosts, Goldberg says, “We don’t know if this is at the end of the day. We don’t know how many hours he’s been working. And it’s tough. I too have gone off at people.”
