The Golden Globe Awards

The Golden Globes pulled in the least television viewership. The awards ceremony though were full of big stars television viewership showed not much of a figure. There were several teary acceptances speeches by Briton Kate Winslet and a rare posthumous honor for Heath Ledger.

The television viewership mounted to a mere  14.6 million viewers, which is an all time low.

The average viewership calculated, recorded the second-lowest TV audience since 1995, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The reason for the sudden drop in audience cannot be figured. Even two years back the television audience was 20 million.

Last year’s ceremony was reduced to a star-free news conference because of the Hollywood screenwriters strike.

Golden Globes which is regarded as a test before the Oscar ceremony on February 22 was a star studded occassion. Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers to hot couples Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were present to complement the upbeat awards mood.
