Russell Brand will be releasing a comedy record. The funny man is up for some new antics this time. Brand would have a song for his own tour. All kudos to his friend, Joby and Simon Cowell.

The British comic star’s friend Joby Harte penned ‘The Chugga Chugga Song’ to use in the opening slot on Russell’s last stand-up tour. Simon Cowell has jumped on board to back it’s release because of the song’s hit history.

Joby is dead keen and Russell is up for a laugh if he can find the time to record it.

An insider of the Label told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Joby wrote the track to get the crowd on their feet before Russell’s shows. “It’s really cheesy and has a dance routine to go with it. Russell loved it and got so involved by dancing along to it on his radio show. “He thought that would be the end of it but record labels got in touch about releasing it. Joby is dead keen and Russell is up for a laugh if he can find the time to record it.”

The track was picked up by a talent scout working for Simon at Syco Records when it was aired on Russell’s Radio 2 show last year.

Russell, 33, explained what the single is all about: “Joby is a Jelly Baby Jesus and ‘Chugga Chugga’ can solve every global malady, from economic decline to the ongoing Carlos

Tevez saga. Just Chugga Chugga . . . it’ll all be OK.”
