Rihanna wishes to become a movie star. Rihanna is aiming to match the standards of Beyonce Knowles whose superb transition from singing sensation to screen idol has made Rihanna aim for the movie screens.

The Bajan beauty and the superb soulful hitmaker got her first taste of acting when she made a cameo appearance in 2006 film ‘Bring It On: All or Nothing.’

And now The Umbrella hitmaker wants to take centre stage on the big screen. She tells Britain’s OK! magazine, “I’d love to star in some movies, that’s my next goal. I love my music but I want to get into movies and I want to start some businesses of my own.”

Rihanna has other dreams. Movies is not the only aspiration for Rihanna: “I like clothes, I love make-up, so maybe I could have a hand in some of those things.” She wants to reach the sky in the world of entertainment.

Islamic leaders in Malaysia are charging ahead with calls to ban Rihanna from performing in the country just weeks after she promised to tone down her forthcoming live concert.

The controversy over Rihanna’s saucy stage act has re-emerged after a new report from the Pan-Malaysian Islamic party (Pas) claims her performance, planned for Kuala Lumpur on 13 February (09), would be an insult to Asian values.

Rihanna is known for her stage act where she usually wears high boots and flesh-baring Pvc corsets. The singing sensation had agreed to abide by Malaysian laws earlier this month. The Malaysian government has certain rules and regulations set for female performers. Female artists are required to cover up from their shoulders to their knees. The organiser’s application has been ordered by the authorities to be rejected as it hurts the sentiments of the Muslim nations.
