Cate is excited about the fact of her being licked. Cate Blanchett “can’t wait” to be licked by millions of Australians. The ‘Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ star will appear on a special series of postage stamps to mark Australia Day on January 26.
Cate said: “I am utterly, deeply, humbled and chuffed by the fact that I’m a stamp. I’m going to be licked by millions of Australians and I can’t wait. It is also recognising the value of the arts in Australia. It brings it into general consumption and if I’m part of that, I feel intensely proud.”
Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe and Geoffrey Rush will also feature on the Australian Legends stamps, which will include pictures of the actors in and out of character, including Nicole from ‘Moulin Rouge’, Cate from ‘Elizabeth’, Russell from ‘Gladiator’ and Geoffrey from ‘Shine’.
Nicole, who has three children, is similarly proud of her postal achievement. She said: “I have a vested interest in Australia. I want my children to live here at certain times of their life and see how wonderful it is. It would be lovely for them to lick a stamp, put it on an envelope and say ‘that’s my mum’.”
Each of the stars will be presented with 24-carat gold replicas of their stamps.

When the mother model was asked about her newest addition, daughter Lou, she said, “She’s great. We’re so excited that we had a little girl. Especially (older daughter) Leni is super-excited. (Lou’s) in our room at night. Leni is waiting for her to go into her room. Her brothers share a room and she doesn’t have anyone in her room”.
