Lance Armstrong expecting his first child with girlfriend

The American professional road racing cyclist has proved that he fights till the end. Lance Armstrong who is battling with testicular cancer will be a father for the fourth time. This time he will have his child with girlfriend Anna Hansen.
“Anna and I are thrilled to confirm that we are expecting in June and our families are ecstatic and grateful,” he says in a statement. “We are very much looking forward to what 2009 brings on many fronts.”
Lance also said that he respects and expects media to respect their family privacy as they get into the festive mood. He adds: “…we are both eager to celebrate the holidays as a family.”
Armstrong has won seven straight Tour de France races while battling with his testicular cancer. Armstrong, 37, has three children, Luke, 9, and twins Isabella and Grace, 7, with ex-wife Kristin, whom he divorced in 2003.
Lance came to of his disease in the 90s. He froze his sprem then. Lance’s three children with his ex-wife were conceived through in vitro fertilization with sperm frozen prior to Armstrong undergoing chemotherapy.
Lance’s present baby with girlfriend Anna is unplanned. All these years Lance’s sperm has remained active which is a rarity in itself. It is believed to a miracle since the sperm remaining active happens only with a handful of testicular cancer survivors. The couple are believed to be “thrilled” with the wonderful news of having a baby.
