Penelope Cruz, the Spanish beauty is reportedly down and out with Javier Bardem. Their relationship is reportedly on the rocks. Cruz who is regarded as the Director’s actress and is a hot favourite of Pedro Almodovar wanted to take a break which his beau Javier did not comply with.

The ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ actress who has been dating Oscar-winning star Javier since August is said to be furious after Javier broke their agreement to take a year long sabbatical to star in new movie ‘Biutiful’.

A source said: “Penelope and Javier wanted to take a year off after ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ to concentrate on their romance and spend some quality time together. But Javier couldn’t resist the chance to star in Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s new film.

It was recently reported Penelope was keen to adopt a baby from India with Javier, according to her brother Eduardo.

He said: “She admires Angelina Jolie and has always said she wants to do the same thing. She wants to adopt an Indian child when the time comes.”
