Clooney’s ‘Jealous’ Call To Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman has disclosed to close friends that he has received a phone call from George Clooney early in the morning regarding his last week’s title win of Sexiest Man Alive. Jackman also added that he is quite surprised to have received the call and is not sure whether Clooney was up to his usual japery or is jealous.

George Clooney has the fame of winning the Sexiest Man Alive title twice and has campaigned for Ocean’s Eleven co-stars Brad Pitt and Matt Damon very successfully in the past.
Jackman has said that he received a call from Clooney at 2 am. The phone rang when he was fast asleep. He answered the call and found Clooney on the line. “I was half asleep and I said to him, ‘Ah, George sweetie, good to hear from you’”, Jackman, with a smirk, told People magazine during the Monday’s US premiere for Australia in New York.
When questioned on Clooney’s reaction to this, Jackman added, “He goes, ‘Shut up Jackman, I know what you did. You started this big campaign that’s been going on and you took the title away from me’”.
Besides his close friends, the actor also had a tough time with his family after being titled as the Sexiest Man Alive. Jackman received a mail from one of his Aussie friends, who claimed of possessing tennis racquets sexier than the actor. Oscar, an eight-year-old son of the actor thought the title was a bit of a joke, and Chris, his father said he is not very comfortable with the tag.
“My old man travelled over with me and we landed in America … and all of a sudden we were stopped at the airport and saw the Sexiest Man Alive magazine and everyone is talking about it”, Jackman told People. “My father found it really uncomfortable. He said to me, ‘I can’t really talk to you about being sexy. It’s a little weird. Mind you, I’m still waiting for the birds and the bees pitch from him. That hasn’t happened either”.
