Christopher Nolan is not in the mood of committing to a third Batman movie. He says the chances of his return depend on a good story. The “Memento” director returned with Christian Bale in the title role in 2005. The role of the joker had not been portrayed in the proper light since Jack Nicholson’s performance in 1989.
The Dark Knight’s director Nolan had several plans during the making of the film in the revitalised franchise. The death of Heath Ledger hyped forward the film’s success. It grossed over $991 million at the global box office. It was the most successful movie of 2008. Despite all this Nolan has told the Los Angeles Times that it will take an “emotionally investing” plot for him to make a third Batman movie. Even Christian Bale has expressed his interest in playing the role for a third time. We all have to wait till the day a good story arrives that tickles Nolan’s senses.
