Dressed up in stars with her parents in tow and looking every bit the pop star that she actually is Kylie Minogue got the OBE from the Prince of Wales on July 2nd. The 40 year old gets this honor in recognition of her contributions in a career that spanned almost two decades.

She started of her career in Australian television with the show Neighbours by playing Charlene and went on to become a familiar face in the air waves. She was then given an opportunity to cut out a singing deal by signing up with the recording studios and came up with her first album Locomotion in the year 1987. From the girl-next-door to a sexy siren Kylie has reinvented herself with her music in the years that she had spent in the industry. With the passage of time her battle against breast cancer and recovery have made her an influential figure among her fans. Kylie was elated to receive the honor and said that she was humbled by the experience of getting awarded for a thing that she has always loved to do.
