Kate Hudson is supposed to star in the upcoming film adaptation of the Broadway hit musical Nine. The venture being directed by Rob Marshall is based on  Frederico Fellini’s autobiographical film, “8 ½”. Hudson is set to play an American Vogue writer, a character  created especially for her by the film makers. As reports have it  the original Broadway hit did not even feature the character, however it had been incorporated for the star. She has made her presence felt in comedies like How to Lose a Guy in 10 days and also in films like Almost Famous for which she got an Oscar nomination as well as a Golden Globe for her performance.

However as director Rob Marshall has pointed out Kate Hudson’s skills in singing and dancing made him include her in a cast that boasts names like Nicole Kidman, Penélope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench and Sophia Loren. In related Broadway News the latest Hollywood import this season has been announced. And the one to join the ranks is none other than Whoopi Goldberg the Tony Winning actress who is known for her versatility and acting skills.  The View co-host is returning to Broadway after quite a break to join the cast of Xanadu. However this will be for a limited period of time. The actor will be playing the role of a wise-cracking muse from July 29th to September 7th.
